The spider is not an insect, as I've been told many times in school, it is an arachnid.

About the spider thing real quick...it's not true. It got started by I believe a college student who wanted to see how quick a rumor could get started online that was so unbelievably not true. And sure enough, years later the whole world thinks its a fact. Pretty clever, eh?

In New Jersey, where I live, it's illegal to frown at a cop. :D Everyone, happy faces!

Apparently so, but it was a common misconception even before she started it, as it was listed in a book published in 1954 as a misconception.

OK. Some weird and wonderful laws from the UK.

Quote:
Excluding Sundays, it is perfectly legal to shoot a Scotsman with a bow and arrow.

I'm never going to York!

Quote:
It is illegal for a Member of Parliament to enter the House of Commons wearing a full suit of armour.

Yea, y'no, they do it all the time

Quote:
It is legal for a male to urinate in public, as long it is on the rear wheel of his motor vehicle and his right hand is on the vehicle.

I gotta try this one out!

Quote:
Committing suicide is classified as a capital crime.

Yea. What are they going to do, throw them in jail?

Quote:
A license is required to keep a lunatic.

Remember, a lunatic's for life, not just for christmas.

There are quite a few dumb Scottish Laws (Scotland is special as it gets it's own set of laws. We got foxhunting banned before England! Wooooo!) but I can't find anywebsites that tell you them. dumblaws.com should have a section just for scots law.

I wondered why we cut our holiday to York short...

I used to know a lot more about Scotland but I can't seem to find them but in Britain sticking a stamp of the queen upside down is considered treason o.0 Also, with the exception of carrots, most goods may not be sold on Sunday.

Some funny laws from my country.
1) Cats are not allow as pets if you brought your apartment from the government.

2) Chewing gums are not allow everywhere. It is illege to selling them too.

3) You are not allow to walk around your house naked.

4) Failure to flush a public toilet is an offend.

5) If you are convicted of littering three times, you will have to clean the streets on Sundays with a bib on saying, "I am a litterer." This will then be broadcasted on the local news.

6) Bungee jumping is illegal.

All English males over the age 14 are to carry out 2 or so hours of longbow practice a week supervised by the local clergy.

It is illegal for a woman to be topless in public except as a clerk in a tropical fish store.

Here's a law for Greenville, SC I didn't know about.

- The drinking age on Furman University campus is 60 years old.

And the drinking age on the Bob Jones University campus is N/A, because there prohibit drinking. And here's one for Spartanburg, where I used to live:

- Eating watermelons in the Magnolia Street cemetery is forbidden.

Fact: Light is intelligent. When someone wanted it to be a particle, it was a particle, and when someone wanted it to be a ray it was a ray. Interesting, eh?
