I think that was discovered a while ago, and there was an angry thread about it. But the chances of getting that banner is very low, (what I think) and I have never actually gotten it.

I'd rather get that one than the stupid "Find you classmates" one. I hate that ad. I see it all over the place.

Yeah, I've gotten that one too. If it keeps Neopets free, then I'll agree with it... for now

If you got that while at the tradeing post, it kinda, not too much, makes sense. Its kinda like the auctions at ebay...Although they encourage useing Ebay...

I got one today asking me if I needed a doctor. At first blink, I said to myself "If I were so sick, would I be sitting at a computer playing Neo?" Then the ad went onto explain that it had 4600 of them (or some number like that). It was for Advocate Healthcare.

I don't care what any kid says--and please no offense to you under 18's when I say this--but I think Neo has realized just how many adults play this "kid" game and are capitalizing on it.

I have gotten car ads, Red Lobster ads, University of Phoenix ads, Eddie Bauer ads, classmate.com ads, ebay ads, and now doctor ads. And saw a U2 (my favorite band even though I am "old") on the sidebar (a band that came out, mind you, before a lot of the Neo"kids" were born)

I am not complaining about the ads in the least, mind you--they pay to keep the website free. A necessary evil, you might say. And, I pretty much block out what I see anyway--and I never see them on shop wiz refreshes because I am at the bottom of the page.

But, I have a question: Is it the same for everyone? Or are kids getting different types of ads--like more Britney and BubbleYum and less Jeep ads? I just wonder if they have us separated based on the age and gender we specified when we signed up (personally, I gave a false date for my birthday--I figured there was no reason in the world why they needed my real name and real birthday--too easy, in this day and age, to get other info on me).

Only thing I hate about Neopets and the banner ads, is the fact that Premium Accounts Are IN BETA! I mean, come on TNT! You tell us premium members get no ads, and you don't even give us the option to be a premium member! Enough With the "Early Bird gets the worm" stuff, let us pay! :x

I see the ebay ads like every 4 or 5 pages. I think the main reason there was an angry thread about ebay in particular is that people have been warned and frozen for typing just the word ebay. I got a warning for typing it on my guild board. Another member here got a warning, then frozen for typing it.

That cursor ad has GOT to go! I thought it was my computer -- every time that ad comes up, my cursor goes nuts, makes it hard to navigate. And someone posted that they actually did click on that one, to get some cursors for their nephew (I think?) and ended up with loads of spyware to get rid of. Not from Neo, but from the cursor site itself - d/l the cursors I guess.

Morningstar, I'd be curious too as to who is seeing what. Today I've been getting loads of AOL call waiting ads. They slow the entire page loading down to a crawl. Lots of ebay today too. Guess with the holidays coming, that should be expected. Have not gotten a medical one - yet ;)

Indeed that just shows how strict neo is. They should at least update their rules to show what words arent allowed like "Ebay" and such. So people dont get warnings for stupid stuff.
