*cough*Jesse McCartney*cough*

Although I don't think he has worked with Disney. And he's a boy. And I hate him and his songs.

Edit: And what the hell is up with that song "Beautiful Soul"? [sarcasm]I'm sure Jesse wrote that, he is so intelligent[/sarcasm]. I bet he doesn't even know what type of "soul" he's singing about.

Now, that isn't true. Sometimes you have to. I don't know if Lindsay has an excuse, however.

Anyways, I feel a little bad for her.. not really because she was caught, but more person everything ripping at her for it.

Why would one have to? If they are physically unable to perform, then they should back down and apologize, rather than pretending to do something that they can't do.

Because when I posted I never thought of that as an option. I speak before I think.

But, seriously.. there has to be SOME reason...I just don't know what.

*sulks*

Med hon, don't sulk. I agree with you. You made a very valid point and have no reason to be sorry for it, or blame it on speaking before thinking. *hugs*

Ammer, I'd just like to point out your comment on Jesse wasn't really called for. I don't like him either, but I don't think that gives you or me a right to critisize him like that.

anyone who decides to submit themselves to the public eye is going to be criticised, and we as the audience have the right to do so.

Oh no, not another one. If she hasn't got a valid excuse, it serves her right.

This is what happens when the music community is swamped with no talent hacks.

On Jingle Ball Rock, she was lip syncing. But everyone was. (Not sure on Maroon 5, however.)

You have a right so it automatically makes it ok? Come on. There's a fine line between not liking someone and being downright mean...and I think many of you crossed that line a good long time ago.

Honestly, the stuck up deserved it. The way she treats everyone, thinking she's all that.
Anyhow,
2 down, 2 to go. I'm convinced Hilary Duff is next to be exposed 8)

Just curious, who are the other two besides Hilary Duff?

And I have seen Hilary perform live. She's not that bad. She doesn't sound wonderful but I give her credit for singing live. And at the MMVA's, she was singing live but apparently she sounded so horrible they put the real track over it on television.

And for the Lindsay clip. That's hilarious. She deserves it.

A friend of mine went to the MMVAs(For you Americans, its like the MTV Video Awards..but better :) ), and they told me the exact same thing, the girl couldn't sing if they put a wad a cash infront of her and a grizzly behind her(Yeah, Im playing off Canadian Stereotypes, so bite me).

I suppose I can see why they would go on and lip sync though. Ultimately, it isn't their decision when they preform or for who they preform for. It's their record labels and what the label wants, the label gets. Unless the artist is just that good, and lest I say it aloud( the word which makes any PA cringe)--A diva--they probably wont be getting much from saying "I don't wanna do it" and subsequently whining like an abornormally large two year old.

I'm sorry, but Lindsay had her record in the can ever since she started recording it. She selling her albums off the fact that she stared in two films. Shes a brilliant actress(don't eat me, coming2atvnearu, please!) but singing just isn't her thing.

I think Ammer's PI article(issue 2) really sums it up well:

The Pink Ink(Represent, j00!) wrote:
Sactors: What Entertainment Has Come To
Written by: Ammer

Lately, we have seen many stars switch from singing to acting, or vice versa. From Jennifer Lopez to Lindsay Lohan, we're seeing a brand new age of "sacting" (Singing/Acting). The one question which boggles everyone's mind is: can these sactors possibly do both? Wait, of course they can! However, can they do it well?

Throughout this article you'll see various comments made by various sactors and various PPTers. However, let's start off with the most famous of all sactors: Hilary Duff.

Hilary Duff truly shined when her show, 'Lizzie McGuire' debuted on the Disney Channel. The show was aimed mostly for girls around 8-12, and did amazingly well. It even had it's own movie, 'The Lizzie Mcguire Movie'. Due to Hilary's rise in fame, she left the show to pursue her fashion line, acting career and newly found singing career. After singing various songs from 'The Lizzie Mcguire Movie', Hilary Duff launched a singing career which sold very well. Soon enough, Ms. Duff's career soared into many film roles and a brand new album.

But the question is, can she actually act or sing?

Here is what Hilary has to say about her music and acting career,

"They're [Acting/Singing] such different feelings. When I'm on tour, I'm in a new city every single night, and the energy and the crowds and the kids and the screaming and them knowing every single word of my music and my being onstage is such an energetic feeling, with a big payoff. Working on a movie, things are a little more slower paced. But sometimes if I'm in the middle of touring, I'll be like, 'Man, I really wish that I was working on a movie right now.' Or if I'm working on a movie, I'll be like, 'Oh, I wish that I was touring right now.' I just love them both so much,"

Here is what some PPTers have to say,

"I don't enjoy watching or listening to her, but at least she's been able to keep a decent public image, unlike Lindsay Lohan."- Fiddelysquat

"Actress, yes, singer, NO!"- Twinkle

My opinion: Hilary Duff can sing to an extent. However, after that "extent", her voice must be computerized. Her acting isn't very good either. She is slowly beginning to become a better actress, but this should've been modified before she got the role of "Lizzie" in "Lizzie McGuire".

Next, we shall talk about the lipsynching pop princess Ashlee Simpson.

Ashlee Simpson started her career on the hit series, "7th Heaven" where she played one of the main roles. After the success of her sister, Jessica Simpson's, singing career, Ashlee began her own singing career. Her song, "Pieces of Me", became a huge hit, and she became one of the most loved teen singers overnight. Ashlee later released a song, entitled "Shadow", which kept her career soaring. However, one performance at SNL (Saturday Night Live) led to Ashlee's career crashing down (not really, but close). Based on that performance, Ashlee's respect from various artists such as Avril Lavigne, and her own fans, wore down.

And the question truly is, can she sing or act?

Based on her fathers inquiry,

"Just like any artist in America, she has a backing track that she pushes so you don't have to hear her croak through a song on national television. No one wants to hear that."- Joe Simpson [Ashlee's father]

I doubt it.

And based on various PPTers,

"Saying she can't sing doesn't mean I'm being rude. I'm just stating a fact."- Optimus

"I don't think she's particularly talented in either profession. Her voice is mediocre (absolutely no vocal range to speak of), and her acting is still strongly reminiscent of her days on the campy, overacted Lizzie McGuire show."- Fiddelysquat

I highly doubt it.

My opinion: Ashlee Simpson cannot act or sing. I believe her acting is terrible, and the only way she can sound good when singing is... Lipsyncing.

In conclusion, it seems that sactors are looked down upon, based on various opinions gathered throughout PPT and the media. However, if they can pull it off, all the power to them. Let's just hope that the newer generation of sactors are much more talented...in more than one area.

Until next time, I'm Ammer.

Im not even a fan of Hilary Duff, to be frank.

i haven't seen any downright meanness on this topic. i have seen negative criticism aimed at people who deserve it. i'm so sick of this crazy notion that any kind of negative crit is considered "mean" around here.

i think the lindsey lohan slipup isn't as bad as the ashlee simpson one. as far as i know, lindsey didn't run around screaming about how she would never ever lipsynch.

but still. not good. why bother with live performances?

Actually, I don't think she was. I'm pretty sure Ashlee was the only one who lip synced. Jojo sounded like she was singing live to a backup track. And Avril was definitely live. As for Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, well, they're rappers. lol
