I was playing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 until 11:55 PM, then I went onto my computer and acompanied my brother and his friend in out MSN nerdy countdown.

No, I completely missed the countdown trying to release the latest issue of the Pink Ink. Really. XD I only realised it was the new year when I looked at my computer clock switching from 12:01 to 12:02.
That makes this the second (wait...now that I think about it, maybe third?) consecutive countdown I've missed.

Yup! I was at Lilac~ the fainting queen's house, and we were so absorbed in our game that we didn't notice it was going to be the new year until 11:59:20... so we rushed around for 30 seconds trying to find everything and started counted down at 5 seconds 'til.

At the last moment I got invited to some party thinger. (I thought I was doing nothing again this year!) Three of my friends and I went outside and sung really loudly after 12, as our neighbors lit fireworks and some guys started singing Phantom of the Opera at us? 
(Could have sworn I heard some cat calls too.)
Well, we charged down the streets singing "The Badger Song", some songs from Sound of Music and the "Miyahi" song from albinoblacksheep. It was fun. But we didn't really count down. More like, look at the clock and realize it was 11:58.

Yup we had a countdown and then we cracked open the champagne, only huw broke the cork, so it was like 3-2-1 *pause of five minutes until the champagne opens* HAPPY NEW YEAR.

You could always comfort yourself by the thought that your watch may be a few seconds faster/slower.
I don't normally count down to New Year's and this year is no exception. It isn't really very special or anything once you grow older and many new year's have passed you by.
