For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

May change it later. This set isn't the newest set I've made, but it's probably the best.

I'm going to going to the Philippines on January 1 and staying there 3 weeks, so I won't be here for the ratings and the winner.

So could I ask a favor of someone? Could someone PM all the sets ratings to me so that I can see what happens? And I'd also like to congratulate the winner in advance!

Good luck everyone!

Judges are to rate the sets as usual, as well as give a number rating out of 10. Due to sheer laziness, I'm not going to put the three sets entered into one post. Knives has withdrawn from this round, though he wishes you all good luck.

Just wanted to pop in and say congrats to all who have made it this far. Graphics aren't easy things to make, and you guys have mastered them.

This is the only time in the contest where I make a (semi)flowery speech. Ugh. Anyway. Congratulations on making it this far, blah blah blah. You've all improved since you've started, blah blah blah. Good job and all that.
Laq -- Gorgeous images you used. I love how you messed with the colors a bit. Dreamy, really. I wish you hadn't covered up the beautiful bungalows with the massive text though. I think you placed it there to hide the bit of overlapping in the middle, which is a no-no. Just do a better job blending or use a different image to make it seamless. I also don't like the sketchy overlay. It's too parsed out and doesn't add much to the set. Nevertheless, the overall effect is easy on the eyes and relatively pretty. 8/10
Apricus -- I always appreciate what you do with random images. The dot overlay is a little too powerful. I do love the border and the way you did the text. Your name should be moved down and rightward a bit. Text balance and all that. Lovely job, really. 8.5/10
Marissa -- The way you used a black and white image is lovely. It goes so well with Lillie's favorite quote. I love how you softened the image to give it the windy feeling. The glowing/feathered border is also a great touch. The only thing I dislike is how the word "play" runs into the flute. Makes it a bit hard to read. 9.5/10

You guys make graphics fast! Keep up the good work!
Expect the next contest to have me in the finals! W00!

Marissa-The soft blue is beautiful, and I love the glow on the border. It's very simple and that's what makes it great. The only problem I see is even though you added a glow to the pixel text on the sig, it overlaps with the image a bit on the bottom, and it's a bit hard to see. 9.5/10
Apricus-The colors and text and everything look great, and I love the border and background, giving it an earthy sort of style. Even though the image looks great even though it was blown up, the corner which looks like a missing petal looks far too awkward. 9/10
Laq-The background looks really nice, and I love how the huts and trees blend into it. I'd choose a better font, though, because the q in laq looks like a 2 with the main sig font. You have a large area in the av on top, so move the text up so it can occupy it more evenly. 8.5/10

Marissa
Very nice. I love the dreamy effect you've given it. On thing I don't like is the little dots above the i and e in Lillie. Just because of the image and subtext, small musical notes might've looked better. But that's just a small detail. Also, the word 'play' in the subtext sort of blends into the flute. 9.5/10
Apricus
I love the text in this. It's very original. I also love the background. The main thing I don't like about this is the image, actually. The petals missing on the one part of the flower look...odd. Also, the dot overlay on parts of the flower are way too strong. 9/10
laq
The test is a tad bit overpowering. It draws away from the image, and the first thing I actually noticed about this set was that the 'q' looked like a 2. The blend job you did is okay, but I think you might've been better off working with one image. But this is still a rather pretty set. 8.5/10

Marissa: Beautiful set. My only crit is that the spots/dots/things next to the girl make everything look a bit too busy, in the sig, at least. 9/10
Apricus: I don't really like the black/grey text, though. I think a colour that matched the set better would have done well. Other than that, though, great job! 8.5/10
laq: It's not bad! The only things I don't really like about the set is the text in the av and the subtext of the sig- the light colour of the outlines makes them hard to read, and doesn't look all that great. Also, perhaps a border two-pixels thick would have worked better? =? 8/10

Just poppin by to congratulate Marissa on a job well done. I've adored her grpahics since I first joined this forum all those years ago ( alright, about 2 years. Not that long). Keep up the great work!
And congratulations to LAQ, Apricus and Knives on making it to the end. I've noticed great improvement in you guys in such a short amount of time.

Scott never misses a chance to do the math. Sick little boy, he is. Next, I'm going to make him calculate how much shipping his Christmas present will cost me... without using the USPS site. Bahahaha.
And congratulations, Marissa. Not that you needed PPTTG to affirm your Photoshop talent... nice bonus though, eh?
