Well, back when my brother was really into his guitar he introduced me to some stuff. Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Steve Vai to name a few. I wish I could play guitar. I tried for the longest time and I could only play "Louie Louie" and "Blue Monday". :P

Mm, I love the bass line in Howie Day's "Everything Else.." I am so going to have to figure it out sometime.. and I love most all of Switchfoot's bass lines and riffs, but especially the bass line in "Incomplete" and just everything in "The Beautiful Letdown" (the song, not the album).. ah, yes. And of course, everything in anything by Muse and Eisley.

As far as awesome riffs go, you can't beat the Rolling Stones.

If you're unfamiliar, go smack yourself and then check out Jumpin' Jack Flash, (Can't Get No) Satisfaction, Can't Always Get What You Want, and a number of other Rock and Roll staples for the amazing licks from Keith Richards.

What's your preference, the original with one of the Almand brothers or the unplugged version?

They both have their merits! I only had the original on my PC before it went bye-bye, but I love unplugged versions of most things :)

Some of Boston's stuff is great. And the guitar solo in the middle of The Knack's version of My Sharona.

At the moment, I pretty much love the solo in Slither by Velvet Revolver.
