At my school, almost every day this year, they have said on the announcements to NEVER cross the road outside the school going to the 7-11 except on crosswalks. Well... guess what? A kid did it. He got hit by a car. Only a broken leg. I don't even feel sorry for him. I mean, they said over and over again not to cross it, and this was at 6:30 in the morning, when it's dark. Why didn't he use his common sense? -_-

I believe there is always that one person who makes the mistake of doing it and believing that their immortal and no harm can come your ways, but when they actually do it and they get hurt it's a wake up call to them and to everyone else. Common sense is also something that sadly not everyone has.

Well... :P let him be a lesson for everyone who are thinking of crossing :) Some don't learn unless they've seen/known/experienced it.

He might not have been stupid, he might of just thought to himself subconsiously that the risk of getting hit (which to him may seem very small) put up against having to walk to the crossing to cross isn't worth it. But yeah, with these things theres always thew few who 'don't listen' :) .

Some people do listen, but if they are young, they would do what was said not to do. I'm in elementary school, and a lot of people do that. Not very smart...

The same thing happens at my school. We had this month long campaign about "Follow the law, cross at the crosswalk!" Guess what, less than 50% of the people actually do. I suppose people don't want to walk the length of the school just to cross the street. *shrugs*

Ok now THAT'S stupid. Serves them right then in that case. Hope the driver was okay, this boy got hit by an elderly man near me and the shock was so bad that it killed the poor driver. It was awful.

8 lanes? Bahhh, I've only seen people do that on Cop shows. They're running across the highway, jumping over cars, screaming thier lungs out...aaaand they get hit. -.- I'm glad he's alright though. Still, was that worth a muffin or a coffee from 7-11? o_O

The driver should have seen him and be able to stop, if he had his lights and common sense on.

It was 6:30 am and it was crowded. :P Because there's only one entrance to my school and 2500 kids. o.o

I think the point is, he shoudn't have had to stop. Kid shouldn't have crossed the road, it's too easy to blame to driver.
