Umm I have no idea what the months are between the month of eating and the month of hunting.

Sorry again about the inactiveness, I could give you a huge story about why I'm busy but it'll send you to sleep so I'll leave it at that.

EDIT : I sent my answer to the puzzle to amarise. As to whether it's right or not....well....

Well, like I said I believe I've figured out the answer, I was going to post it but then I wasn't sure if I wanted to clue the other team in on just how far the puzzle had been solved. I can post my whole 'train of thought' thing around 7:30 my time (about an hour), although it's slightly imcomplete at the end.

Okay, here's what I was thinking about the puzzle. Now, it was posted half as an actual post, and half as simply a way for me to collect my thoughts, so please excuse it if the language is a little stilted. At the very end, I kind of did everything on paper instead, so it's not quite as complete as I'd like. If I'm missing any critical data, please let me know and I'll fill it in.

Last year there were five new pets born in Neopia, one each month from The month of Sleeping to The month of Hunting. Each had a different name, was of a different species and was painted by their owners a different colour.

Name each pet, what month they were born, what species they are and what colour they were painted.
NAMES: Arthur, Cutie, Daphne, Grace, Killer
SPECIES: Cybunny, Kougra, Lenny, Shoyru, Uni
COLOUR: Faerie, Gold, Island, Orange, Purple

1. Neither Daphne (who isn't a Kougra) nor Arthur was born in The month of Eating
2. Killer is either Orange or Purple
3. Grace was born before the Lenny but after the pet painted Faerie.
4. The Lenny was born before Arthur.
5. Neither the Cybunny or the Shoyru is called Grace.
6. The pet painted Island was born after the Shoyru, who was born after Killer.
7. The Kougra and the Uni are painted Faerie and Purple, in some order.

For the timelines, keep in mind that while they're relative to each other, there might be other pets in between.


The months: Sleeping-Awakening-Running-Eating-Hunting

Faerie was born first, then Grace, then Lenny. Lenny was born before Arthur. Therefore:

Faerie-Grace-Lenny-Arthur

Arthur was not born in the month of eating. Since there are only five pets, Arthur would have to be fourth or fifth. Because we know when he wasn't born, then he must have been born fifth, in the Month of Hunting.

Arthur=Hunting

Now, the second set:

Killer-Shoyru-Island

Killer is Orange or Purple, which means Killer isn't the faerie pet. We know Grace cannot be the Lenny, nor is she Cybunny or Shoyru. Therefore, she's the Kougra or the Uni. Since the Kougra and the Uni are either Faerie or Purple, Grace must be Purple since she was born after the Faerie pet. If Killer was Orange or Purple, he must be Orange, as Grace is Purple.

Grace=Purple Killer=Orange

If Killer is Orange, he cannot be the Kougra or the Uni. He also can't be the Shoyru, since he was born before the Shoyru. Therefore, Killer is either the Cybunny, or the Lenny.

The Shoyru must be gold, as we know two colors already, we know Faerie is taken by Kougra or Uni, and he was born before Island.

Shoyru=Gold

Now, Arthur cannot be the Shoyru, as he was the fifth pet, and the shoyru had another pet born after it. The shoyru also cannot be Grace or Killer, since we know their colors. Therefore, the Shoyru is either Daphne, or Cutie

Shoyru=Daphne or Cutie

Back to Arthur. He can't be Gold, because he can't be the Shoyru. He can't be Purple or Orange, because we know the names of those pets. He also cannot be Faerie, because he was born after the Lenny, which was born after Grace after the Faerie pet. So, Arthur is Island.

Arthur=Island

Okay, after much reviewing, I've figured out the timeline.

Faerie-Grace-Lenny-Shoyru-Arthur

The Shoyru is Fourth, because there has to be another pet before him, and if there's a pet before Faerie, that makes him Faerie. (And we already know he's Gold) He can't be Grace, because we know Grace is Purple. He obviously can't be a Lenny, too. So he must have been born in the Month of Eating.

Arthur-Cybunny (he can't be the Shoyru, the Lenny, the Kougra, or the Uni) Island (For reasons stated above) Hunting (Since he has to be fifth)

Cutie-Shoyru (we know the Shoyru can't be Arthur, Grace, or Killer, and Daphne wasn't born in the month of Eating) Gold (For reasons above) Eating (Since the shoyru is fourth in birth order)

Daphne-Uni (We know all the other pet's species based on color except Kougra and Uni, and we know she's not a Kougra) Faerie (since we knew the other choice was Grace, and she's painted Purple) and Sleeping (Since Grace was born in Awakening)

Grace- Kougra (She had to be Uni or Kougra, and we know Daphne couldn't be Kougra) Purple (Explained above) Awakening (Found via timeline)

Killer- Lenny (We know because he had to come before the Shoyru and the Island pet, we knew he wasn't a Kougra, and we know he was Orange) Orange (Explained above) Running (on the Timeline)

This is basically the graph that I made up, with the final info (as I figured it) filled in.
