The first movie I've seen in 2005. I highly reccomend it unless you happen to be a theatre major. The music was incredible, and that's saying something ocming from a band nerd like me. Let me know what you all think about the movie, I need someone to discuss it with, or I may explo... uh oh...

BOOM!!!

Hmm, I didn't really fancy it when I saw the trailer... nothing beats a live show.

I'll wait for the DVD

I haven't seen it yet. My friend is becoming really obsessed with it though. She's seen it about eight times now in theatres. I love the music from the play, but I'd rather watch it and cry at home than in theatres. Plus, I'd either have to go alone or with my obsessed friend. And believe me...when she's obsessed...she's OBSESSED! *has frightening vision of watching Pirates of the Carribean with her* ;)

It was beautiful. I've seen the play twice, years ago, the Canadian performancse in Toronto and I was impressed that they molded this Phantom's voice off of the Canadian Phantom rather than the British one..so it hit home for me :)

I've seen in twice in theatres now. I don't ever see things twice but I HAD to see it with my boyfriend. :)

I liked the movie. It was great. I saw the broadway show when I was, like, 4, so I don't remember a whole lot about it, though I do have the soundtrack from it, as well as the movie. The musical is coming here in July, so hopefully I can go see it.

The opera was better. The chandeller is dsigned to decapitate people who are too tall as it swings across the audiance.

Haven't seen it yet, but it made someone who is probably my least-serious friend cry. As usual, I will see it in cheap theatres. I look forward to it!

(I also managed, somehow, to make said friend cry with a logfile. So it's gotta be at least as good as that RP - which I posted here.)

It was a really good movie, I like it a lot. :D I'm a complete theatre geek, but I have yet to see it on stage. (*shame* :P) Hoping to do that soon.

I have yet the experience the theater version and have been trying to go see it. I probably will not be able to afford seeing it now or it will never be close to my area. :\

I LOVED the movie! I saw 2 times and wanted to see it a 3rd but never got around to it. I bought the 2 disc soundtrack after seeing it the 2nd time. And I must say that Gerard Butler was an AWESOME Phantom. I love Michael Crawford to death but Butler was a very sensual Phantom. :) Emmy Rossum wasn't too bad either. I must admit that there were notes she sounded better singing than Brightman did. Certain things about Brightman's voice made me cringe but she's still an awesome singer. I have read the book, as well as Susan Kay's Phantom and seeing this in the movie theater just brougth a whole new perspective for me, especially since I haven't been fortunate enough to see the live show.
