I've got Spybot running for IE, and it does a fantastic job with popups and that sort of thing, but it's causing problems when it blocks a download of a cookie... especially on Neopets. It gives me a popup screen to tell me what it's blocking, then I have to click ok for the webpage to continue downloading. But every time I do it on Neopets, the page comes out blank, which really bites when I'm spinning the Wheels, or using the lab ray. There's no way to find out what happened on that page. Is there any way to turn off the Spybot notifications?

Just use Firefox and you will not need to worry about using any external programs to block pop-ups, spyware, malicious ActiveX controls and all of the other flaws embedded in IE. Firefox can copy all of the links from IE automatically, so you will not be losing anything. Other than fear of spyware. That, you'll be losing. http://www.getfirefox.com

Well....so can Maxthon! It also automatically blocks those pesky 200x200 ads at the bottom of the page. :D

It has:
Quote:
Tabbed Browsing Interface
Mouse Gestures
Super Drag&Drop
Privacy Protection
AD Hunter
Google Bar Support
External Utility Bar
Skinning

You can also download this plugin that enables right-click. (Such as in Neopets Shops)

You do understand about W3C standards and the differences between the Gecko and MSHTML engines, right? If you do, then use whatever you find best. I myself don't like having a myriad of features I don't want or use cluttering my precious memory and menus. But it's all political, in the end. A matter of you understanding what is at stake besides browser choice. But you won't care. And if you don't care, Maxthon is the perfect browser for ya.

No offense meant.

Okay...**looks around screen** Firefox looks great! The top Neopets banners now say "click to download plugin", and then just don't show up, which is cool. Now is there a way to block the bottom ads with firefox?

Edit: Well poo. So I had to download the Shockwave plugin for Firefox, and now all my ads are showing up. How do you get rid of them with Firefox?

Grab from http://update.mozilla.org the extension called "AdBlock".
