I like my keyboard to make soft pitter-pattering sound like the way laptops do. I think laptop keyboards are generally way better keyboards anyway. And the keyboard I have had for the past three years is a Hungarian keyboard so my mum can write in Hungarian but it makes it really hard sometimes when I'm trying to write in english and use all the wrong keys. Not that that has anything to do with sounds...*shrugs*

I like my keyboards clicky too. If they're that silent, muffly kind, I feel that I'm not typing at top speed. That makes me go faster, which makes me make unnecessary mistakes. On my keyboard, I can tap my fingers on top of the keys and make the sound most other keyboards make when having keys fully depressed.

But you know what's worse than a silent computer keyboard? A really cheap 66 key plastic electronic piano keyboard. Those are painful.

I love my clicky keyboard^^ It always wierds people out to hear how fast I can type. There's just something more satisfying about the clickyness, and then the dull thud of the spacebar...I should write a poem or something...-muses-

I love my clicky keyboard! When you're typing it just sounds so right and the way the spacebar just makes a sound like it's springing up. And the low sound of the enter key. And the way the arrow keys all sound different. And all the numbers of your right hand keypad all sound different and it makes it easier to remember numerical codes as you remember the sounds. Well, I do. *watches as everyone stares at him* WHAT!

I agree. A clicky keyboard provides you with the momentum to type even faster! People also get impressed when they hear the sound of your fingers flying over the keyboard. :P

Silent keyboards just don't have the "oomph" and satisfaction which clicky keyboards provide. You feel as if you are sinking your fingers into wool instead of hammering incisive words onto the screen. :>

So true :P

I love nice, clicky keyboards! But just about every night, around midnight or so, I wish I had a silent one so my mom wouldn't make me get off the comp. Recently I've been using my earpieces (evil things) to use sound and still be silent, but... nope, I'm a fast typer, can't stop the clicky.

Quiet mouses are good.

At school I like to pick the old computers for typing class... I type fastest or second fastest in the class, depending on the day and amount of caffeine. More caffeine means slower typing, oddly enough.

:D I love the clickiness. Mine doesn't click a lot, but it clicks enough, and sounds rather impressive when I'm typing quickly. Steady stream of clicks.

I do wish my mouse was a bit quieter...but I don't like silent keyboards, or ones with keys that don't move down really easily.

My dad has a keyboard with the seperated hands at work...that would drive me NUTS. Argh. It would kill my speed. Yesterday during a three minute timing I got 132 WPM :) The typing teacher said I'm probably the fastest typer that she's ever had.

Not like anyone will care in 10 years, but it makes me feel happy.

I have come to the conclusion I do not like laptop keyboards. Not only do they not give a most satisfying loud 'click' but more of a soft 'tap-tap'. They are incredibly hard to type on, and I keep making numerous typos, so if I miss any, please forgive me. Meh.

It also does not have a mouse and I have this strange obsession where if the mouse keeps jerking or there is none or something, I do not want to type. Its a recent thing, though... I dunno why, it just frustrates me or something.

The only reason I have come to this conclusion is that I am currently pattering away on my dad's laptop while he tries to fix my computor. Joy.

I love clicky keyboards! They make me so proud of my typing skills! :D

80-85WPM without numbers. :)

I just love the sound of clicky keyboards, the silent ones make me wonder if I'm typing at all. O.o

I don't think I've ever had a keyboard that didn't click while I typed. I don't know, the constant clicking reminds me that I can hit every key without looking quickly and makes me go "woot!"

But now I want a silent keyboard, I think it would freak me out though.

And half of this post was just to listen to my keys click. -blush-

Hmm. I'm not a big fan of clicky keyboards. Mine is rather clicky, and it annoys me. Especially when Stu's standing next to me and criticizing the speed. =P

What annoys me more that clicky keyboards, though, are clicky mouses (Yes, I am aware that the plural of mouse is mice, but it sounds wrong in connection to computers. Yes, I am weird.), which we also have. Stu's always saying that I click to much and we're going to have to buy a new one. =P
