Thank you thank you thank you. Finally. This has been what I've been trying to say.

People are definitely getting into a "preppy is bad" mindset and it annoys me more than anything. You have your style, I have mine.

And for people that say everyone that buys clothes from A&F and Hollister dress the same, not true. Most of the people who are casual shoppers at A&F (half my school) just buys the shirts that scream ABERCROMBIE across the chest. I usually buy the polo shirts or sweaters or something that only have the moose logo.

It doesn't, I just don't want to support an organization that does that.

What shirts do I wear? Hm..[really, I have to think about this. It's pitch dark in my room when I get up, so I don't really look carefully at what I'm plucking out of my drawer.]..

I guess I go to the "normal," "typical," "mainstream" stores and pick shirts without a logo. Aeropostale, TJ Maxx, Express, Old navy, Gap, and various department stores tend to have them.

Mark understand that some people don't shop their because they don't have the preppy is bad mindset, but don't shop their for various personal reasons. Aeropostale is much cheaper, and you almost get the same thing. Some people just don't want to spend that much on clothes, and some people enjoy bargain hunting for nice things that not everyone wears. (I own an AE shirt that I know for a fact half my school does). But when I went to shop at TJ Maxx and unknown thrift stores, their clothing had a unique style and there wasn't a mass pile of them laying out. Sometimes if you buy from other stores you will have maybe a shirt that no one else owns or has even seen; it may even look better than what those stores manufacture.

Some people also don't shop at those stores because of the whole prejudice thing. No one wants to be treated unfairly, and why should you have to be treated like dirt just because of your race or how you look. I see that you are avoiding the issue of the whole racial thing, which should never be neglected.

Their clothes aren't that great either. I enjoy vintage and AE has some nice ones with a minature logo on most, along with Aeropostale. A&F just have colored shirts with the word Abercrombie(sp) plastered to them. Nothing so amazing as to say "I need this shirt NOW, OMG OMG, I HAVE to HAVE it!!!".

Dilliards has some nice clothes. I buy some of my stuff from their too. Ecko, Quicksilver, Hurley, Polo, Billabong and the like. They also have nice jackets and overcoats. Also has anyone seen this store called kourage? The clothes inside are extremely nice, but with the price tag almost equal to A&F. They also have the "Everything is bigger in Texas" and "Not everything is flat in Texas" shirts.

Knives sort of mentions the reason why I don't go to those stores. It's not that I dislike the clothes, etc. My parents are retired, we live on a fixed income, we're a family of four, I'm going to college, etc, etc. Simply put, with our income all of our purchases need to be careful, if we can get jeans cheaper than $40 dollars, we're going to, etc. I go to Old Navy, but I rarely buy shirts or jeans there unless they're on sale. I went into Abercombie once and looked at some things and my mom told me in no uncertain terms there was no way we could afford the clothes at that time. I'm sure they have decent things there, I just don't have any or go there.

Ok, I did mention that there were Asian workers in both our Hollister AND Abercrombie but we'll deal with the issue now. A girl in my school, who is from a Latin background, walked into the store once and they offered her a job on the spot. My friend is Indian, and shops there. She's not the most beautiful girl in the world. I've never seen anyone turned down or treated unfairly in that store. Ever. I understand other stores may be different, but I really have no reason to hate them for that.

Also, I know some people don't like spending that much on their clothes. I don't see that as a reason to hate the store. Obviously, people are paying that money because they are still in business and doing well. Supply and demand. Obviously there is demand.

And as I also said previously, the casual Abercrombie shoppers buy the shirts that have Abercrombie sprawled across the chest. That's to say 'LOOK WHERE I WENT SHOPPING LAST WEEK!'. I don't have those shirts. I mostly buy the sweaters or polo shirts that only have a moose in the corner. A lot of people in my school don't buy those. AE is the overbought store in my school.

I like Hollister and American Eagle, their prices aren't too bad and some of their clothes (mainly shirts and jackets) are cute. I don't wear many pants from there, except the occasional pair of courderoys. 40 bucks for a pair of jeans? Insane! Those are the clothes all the preppy people at my school wear, but I still like to wear them not because of that. I don't like Abercrombie though because their clothes just say "Abercrombie and Fitch" and there are no purdy pictures on them. Ugh. I don't like the big huge brand names either, they have to be really small or on the back or just have the logo on the front.

I say wear whatever you want to wear, I'm not dissing you all if you're preppy, my best friend is a prep. I like their clothes, but I also wear things from Limited Too, Gap, Old Navy, and places like department stores. Everybody's style is different.

They're popular where I live, but they were never my style. I like plain clothing, because if i want to I can add stuff onto them later for less cost.

Pretty much everyone with money in my school shops there. I don't, but that's for a few reasons. I have no money, I don't like tight shirts or tight pants which most girls clothes there tend to be. Nah, I prefer my faded band and anime T-shirts along with a pair of twenty dollar workpants. ^_^ The stores don't bother me, because I see no need to be bothered my clothes. I mean, it's just clothes. Some kids in my school are so spiteful about what other people wear and I think that's silly.

Ditto that. I'm the same way. Yeah, I have Abercrombie, AE, Hollister, that stuff, but it's not like I hate everything else. I've got a ton of Old Navy and I get stuff from Sears and Target all the time.

I've been in Abercrombie 3 times my whole life. I'm not fond of the store itself really, I love sale shopping so I hardly ever have a reason to go.
But the name reminds me of a particularly nice fellow with a purple car.

well, I've only been in AE, although I've heard of the others. I find AE rediculously expensive, though. Their t-shirts are SO thin, but are incredibly expensive. It's kind of a rip-off, as much as I like their clothes. Not that they fit me...they're all too big >.< *sigh*
But generally those kinds of stores are pretty expensive.

I have a few things from Gap. Most of the clothes that I have that aren't the 3 stores I started the topic about are Tommy Hilfiger.

I have some clothes from shops like that. I don't really have a clothes style, I suppose. I wear preppy-ish t-shirts sometimes, I guess. And I like polo shirts. meh.

I don't really shop at any of those stores. My sister is a little bit of an American Eagle person but I'm not the target audience....or the target size. I'm not into the plus sizes but even size 14 jeans have a way of being too small when you buy them from those stores.

I always have good luck at Fashion Bug though.

But for casual wear, all I really need is a pair of jeans and an old T-shirt to wear under my hoodies.
