Hey. Well, I was wondering if anyone had read any books by Dan Brown. As far as I know he has 4 books out and is writing another Robert Langdon book as we speak.

His books are: Angels And Demons
The Da Vinci Code
Digital Fortress
Deception Point

I have read "Angels And Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code" and I'm currently reading "Digital Fortress" and so far all of the books have been great. So, has anyone else read his works?

I read "Angels and Demons" and "The Da Vinci Code" but I haven't heard of the others. Are they good? I thought the other two were phenomenal.

I've read all four and they're all great. Each one has its own little "thing" that makes it unique.

Words is that the next installmentof the Robert Langdon stories is called The Solomon Key. Looking forward to its release.

I read Da Vinci Code and thought it was pretty good. I've been meaning to pick up Angels and Demons if I ever see it. Sounds like an interesting read to me.

I've read the Da Vincis Code, and Angels and Demons... and I thought they were both great.
Havn't had the time to read the other two (but my dad does own them).
The Robert Langdon books interest me because normally they go to places i've been (such as Rome), and beacuse they deal with art. So... I find it quite interesting.

I've read (and own, $10 each, yay!) all four of the current books by Dan Brown. They're all really great although I have to confess that I enjoyed Digital Fortress and Deception Point infinitely more than the two Robert Langdon ones. That's not to say that The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons were not brilliant though, they were.

I love the way the books are written so you don't quite know what is happening and things are left vague until it all comes together towards the end, only problem is that by the end of reading all four books you're starting to suspect it so you have all these ideas running through your head.

I think I read each of these books in the space of a about two or three days, I know a couple of times I caught myself up at 3am still reading because I didn't want to put them down.

Looking forward to a new book by Dan Brown though, it should be good provided that he isn't just throwing something together to make more money now that he's a little more famous.

Such a ham-fisted writer.

The Da Vinci code steals some ideas that are not acknowledged. But worse, for me, is that it's just so badly written.

Ugh.

Yea. You read one chapter and say "Right, one more chapter because it's so short" and the next thing you know it's the next day. I was reading DF last night and I kept saying "The next chapter's only 5 pages. I'll read that and then go to bed." but because the chapters are only about 2-5 pages long you're conned into reading more of it. And I like how every chapter ends in a cliffhanger.

But I must agree that after reading about 2 books your head buzzes with so many ideas about the plot and about what happens next that sometimes you convince yourself something is going to happen, but then Dan Brown goes and gives you a cliffhanger that you totally don't expect.

And Igg, have you read "Digital Fortress", "Deception Point" or "Angels And Demons"? Because if you haven't thenyou have no right to say that he is an awful writer when you've only read one example of his work.

I have every right to say he's a hamfisted slipshod writer; because he can't write. His other work I have not read all the way through, but they follow much the same pattern as the Da Vinci code.

Or do you think the other 3 are good and The Da Vinci Code is crap? Nope, you think they're all good.

I've read The DaVinci Code, and I'm going to read Angels and Demons when I get around to it.

The DaVinci Code was great! I read it in an afternoon when I was sick, and I loved it^^ So twisty-turny!

I read "The Da Vinci Code" and "Digital Fortress" and they were good. The ending for Da Vinci Code lacked something but that's alright

How are they badly written? Please elaborate?

The style of writing makes me want to weep.

I liked the fact that the chapters were short... It really does make you want to keep on going.
I loved Angels and Demons, but when I read the Da Vinci Code I had Tom Hanks face stuck in my head and that ruined it.

As for the other 2.. I'll have to see where I can get them from.

I found (in Australia anyways) that since the increase in popularity of Dan Brown books with the release of "The DaVinci Code" you can usually find them all together in the book-stores set up in displays. (Much like how displays for LotR lasted for 4 odd years).

What intrigued me the other day was "The DaVinci Code" with illustrations and pictures, I didn't have much time but I quickly flicked through it and during the sections where they discuss say "The Last Supper" they actually have images of "The Last Supper" and such, a very good idea IMO.
