Odd Colosseum Battles

The art instructor didn't mind as much as you think she might've. In fact she insisted on the orca instead of the moose I had originally thought of. Some of the perspective's a bit off but I'm quite proud of it considering its one of my first oil paintings.

wow a good magcian is in there some where leviatating that orca as well as it's body mass. I'm impressed with his skill.

wow, nice painting. And what does this instructor have against moose? One of my many nicknames happens to be Moose. Moose rock. Anyways, it's still good.

Oooh, I like it. Not only is the concept very cool and definetley different, the painting is pretty good too. (Espicially on the whale and on the colleseum wall.) The whale lives, right?

Hey that's good work there. I like the way it's painted. Did you know though that in those times they would flood the colusseums with water and actually have battles with naval ships? They Emperors had to keep making their shows bigger and bigger to try and surpass each other and keep the people entertained. I wouldn't be surprised if they considered catching marine animals to put in those battles as well

Yeah, I've heard about that although it seems almost as surreal as a levitating whale. How in the world would they get all that water in there? I think in my picture they couldn't figure it out either, but hey, the show must go on :lol:

Exactly what model of repulsolifts are built into the whales belly to keep it afloat like that, technology is amazing ya' know that!

Really good stuff Crew, I really like the idea and the painting is equally well to boot, you paint better then me, paints are like these evil little critters to me, I can only draw with a pen anything else and I'm a 'whale' out of water...ouch!...baaaaaad pun, heh heh.

rome did invent the aquaduct. they were extremely advanced when it came to moving water, i wouldn't be surprised if they had an intricate plumbing system installed into the arenas.

onto the piece. i really like it, i like the non-definition in the piece, i mean, the absract feel it has. great work

They literally did flood the colosseum many, many times for mock naval battles and more. That is why I commented on the lack of dihydrogen oxide in the picture.
