fallen_enigma: I LOVE Natalie Portman, but I don't think this was the role for her to win the Oscar. I'm surprised she even one the Globe for it.

I was surprised that so many heavy hitters weren't there. Catherine Zeta-Jones... NICOLE KIDMAN (what was up with that?). Perhaps that's why it didn't feel as good as the previous years (though it had the best ratings since 2000).

I was quite disappointed that Finding Neverland didn't come away with anything other than best score or whatever that was.

I missed big chunks of it, though, I was writing a history essay and Stu had the remote, so he fast forwarded when he got bored...I didn't see any of the performances.

Also, what's with them having all the people on stage for the lesser awards? What, so people can laugh at them right there when they lose? Seemed a bit odd/cruel to me.

When Robin Williams went up to present he appeared with tape over his mouth... his way to protest that the Oscar people chose to censor and ban some of his original jokes that he had planned. Those included comments about how Olive Oyl was really an anorexic... and I can't remember what the other cartoon character he made fun of was. And then there was more, but I don't know the rest of his banned jokes XD

I saw The Incredibles for the first time today...and I still think Shrek 2 was better.
