For those topics one could describe as the forum equivalent of a twinkie. Word games, forum contests and giveaways are all the rage here.

If someone could post the words on here we could all make our own poems and then combine them in a way.

Just to clear things up, there are no length restrictions on the poem but you cannot manipulate them in any way (plural, spacing, etc)

Sat Mar 12, 2005 8:17 pm

So can we add words? Like "the" to make things complete sentences or do we just have to use the 15 words given?

Sat Mar 12, 2005 8:26 pm

Ok, these are the words we have:

1) Lycanthrope
2) Papyrus
3) Valance
4) Draconian
5) Xylem
6) Cacophony
7) indefatigable
8 ) Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia
9) camouflage
10) Llama
11) Sanguine
12) Belize
13) inane
14) facsimile
15) Phosphorus

And, yes, the stupid words came from me...

Anyway, this is the poem I came up with, and it's horrible, I know...

Hippopotomonstrosequippedaliophobia is a fear of long words
People with this need not worry about words like Xylem, or Infane
Just as a Llama in Belize need not worry about Camoflage
As the Cacophony of noise will drive them insane
A Facsimile doctrine can never be made of
A Sanguine Papyrus that contains the words
Which Draconian designers covet so much
Directions on how to create a Valance of ferns
   An Indefatigable Lycanthrope runs
Through the fields of tall grass-like plants
And though it has lots of Phosphorous in it
It needs to have more strength in its hands

I'm sorry that it's so horrible, it's the best I could do...

one problem: we misspelt cacophony >_<

Edit: just thought I would show off my poem to see which one of us has the better one.

Oh Draconian llama
You promote indefatigable Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia in Belize
You create a cacophony showing off a valace to a lycanthrope
You keep our minds sanguine with thoughts of Xylem and papyrus camouflage.
We love you by offering you phosphorus which we hope you will drink.
We make a facsimile of you every day and burn it to show our affection.
How we love you oh inane draconian llama.

That is if we can use other words besides or original 15.

EDIT: Wait, we're allowed to use different words?

Yup, but it seems like you have to put the words in there.

Anywho, look at the Diva's thread, they're not much better off. ;)

But we have managed to get 2 poems that aren't too bad up here!

Sat Mar 12, 2005 8:51 pm

Oh no need to make a cacophony, Jellyfish. We know our words are better than the other teams'.

Sat Mar 12, 2005 9:21 pm

Since we're in doubt and don't know if we can add other words... I'll post mine too (bear with me, I'm kinda sleepy)

Camouflage, inane lycanthrope!
Camouflage, lycanthrope!
Sanguine draconian llama: hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia.

Then I ran out of verbs :P

Hears a little one I came up with

Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia,
don't be afraid of that word it wont kill ya.

If you can say it all in one breath,
Now that might bring you to your death.

I don't think we can add words... he said that we couldn't, I think... sorry, I just got back from passing flyers and am exhausted to no ends... I can't think. :P

I think we should wait until Ziggy tells us which poems would be acceptable and if we have to use only words we picked then we should go with Wind's.

If not we should do with Chipper's or my draconian one.

Ok if Ziggy does not come on before 6:45 I will send in Wind's poem just to be safe...

((Sorry for being a little bit late, there was a party at my house and I couldn't get to my computer)).

"Anyway," Drew comments, "Both of the teams had a ton of bad words to use. Adding to that, the challenge may have seemed confusing (it was intended to be, believe it or not, to see how the team would work together) and chaos ensued.

"Also adding to that, I have received a number of comments that people would like the game to move faster. Well, you definetly got your wish, because since both poems were so mind-numbingly bad, there will be TWO people eliminated from each team."

"First of all, each inner circle must send in one name of who they would like to be eliminated (on their team, and not in the inner circle). Then, each 'outer' circle, or the other contestants, must send in the name of the one inner circle person they want gone."

"I need the votes by 7 PM NST tomorrow night, when they will be revealed. Then the schedule will be back on track."

Is that entirely fair? There has to be a winner. One poem had to be better .

And why are were forced to have a disadvantage since Dawn bowed out. At this rate we will run out of people before the boys do. I was under the assumption that we did not have to vote someone out this round (unless we can choose to vote out dawn)

Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:10 am

Oh, gah... Darn it! >.< Not good.

Ziggy... about Dawn... will she get replaced? I know there was another girl interested in joining...

Argh, I don't know...

Sun Mar 13, 2005 5:18 am

Well, we did TRY to work together...

EDIT: Ziggy, is Dawn going to be the non-inner circle person voted off?
