Kayra sat next to Mesmer and sighed. "I hope he's going to be allright." she whispered to her self. She traced the markings on her arms and waited to see what would happen next.

OOC: Gah, a lot can happen when I don't get on for a weekend.

Urth sat with his back to a rock and tapped his foot in annoyance. A bunch of people run around screaming for medics, and he gets yelled at for trying to help. He was beginning to regret tagging along. Nobody seemed to want to buy any services. If he had anywhere else to go, he would have left by now. At least he was near an area where people tended to go through often. It was oddly empty at the moment however.

Lin's smile spread."I'm not sure. Hopefully not every one has to be arrested by the feds for hacking, like me." Kyma snapped her finger's infront of Lin's face, making the fox jump. "Hello? I said I'm Kyma." Lin looked intently at her. "Hmm," he said, chewing his lower lip again. The vampire was right. Power did radiate off of her. The question was, Why?

Quickly Kaei ran to the Diamond Gates and she saw the castle she headed towards it and opened the doors. She saw the long hallway and saw the gaurds staring at her. There look was asking 'What buisness do you have here?' "I am here to see the injured man that dragon brought here. See here is the proof that she wanted me to come." Kaei said holding up the ring that Leone gave her. " Where are the people? Tell me now!" Kaei screamed at a gaurds face. The gaurd pointed to a door and Kaei ran over to it. Slamming the door open she saw a crowd of people she ran over to them and shoved some of them aside. And she saw Mesmer she knelt beside him. Not taking her eyes off him Kaei asked "How is he doing?" and she asked it with a worried tone. Then she talked to Mesmer "Sorry I'm late I went to town to find a moderater but I couldn't find one. God where are they when you need one?" Kaei giggeled at her last comment.

occ:sorry I have not replied in a long time. I am grounded from the computer and I could only sneak on just now.

Lin looked at this new person. "You are right, mods never are very consistent. Of course, we techs are even worse." Kyma looked at Kaei with contempt, as if she wanted nothing more then to hit her. "About time you showed up," she scoffed, "did you get lost in your self absorbence?" Lin looked over his glasses at the two. Clearly there was a rivalry. "Ahem, ladies?" the fox said, "can we please leave this...delightful discussion for a less dire time?"

"We think it's something from the real world," Kayra said glancing at Kaei for a moment. "And might I ask, who the hell are you? I don't mean to be rude, but how are you related to the situation at hand?" Kayra asked. Sheesh, nice of her to barge in. Thinking she knows everything. Huh. Who is she anyways? Kayra smiled at Kaei so that she might not think she was thinking about her.

"I am Kaei I was battling Mesmer in the marketplace and then we left together." Kaei blushed she looked down at the ground "Well not together but we left at the same time and we went the same way. I ran into Leone and Mesmer on my way here and they were on the ground they filled me in and Leone asked me to go to town and find a mod. And after I was done with that she told me to come here. She gave me this ring so the gaurds would let me in." Kaei said holding up the ring as proof. Kaei looked up at the fox that broke up the fight. "Thank you I completly agree with you. Oh I'm Kaei like I just said. It is nice to meet ya."

"um.. ok. Well, is there anything you can do to help?" Kayra asked, concerned for Mesmer. "If you know anything that can help us, please tell. So uh, how long have you been in Interface?" Kayra said, striking up a conversaion with the odd girl.

"Since it came out. I was one of the first people to get the game. I bought it so I could make friends, but people here treat me just like the people in the real world do. See everyone thinks I'm spoiled and popular but I am not any of that. I am a very lonely person in the real world. So because everyone treated me badly I became an assasin for hire. But then Mesmer actually talked to me like I was a real person. Yeah it may of happened after we tryed to kill each other but it was the first time anyone ever did that to me the talking thing I mean. So that is why I care so much for this man I hardly know. And I don't want to just hardly know him and leave it at that." Kaei said kindly.

((Leone is my character's name in the real world, on Interface she's called Sungiver the Appraiser...))

Leone looked at Kaei and smiled, "I'm happy you've arrived. Thankfully we got in contact with a mod, and some techs, and the problem is hopefully going to be discovered soon. Until it's solved, we'll have to wait here. But once Mesmer is back to normal we can finally go on our quest." She grinned, then stopped herself and tried to look solemn. All these events had caused her to become very much out of character.

[I'll take over Demortayse now...as nobody has control over the real world and cannot see what's going on]

Demortayse (well, I'm not roleplaying him that long...so we'll just leave him with his username) had logged out in quite a hurry after being informed by a moderator about the status of his friend Mesmer. He got his bicycle out of his garage and quickly cycled over to Mesmer's home. What he saw wasn't good at all. The door had been knocked down. The glass that had been in it was all over the ground. Careful not to cut himself, he rushed into the main room and found nobody. In fact, in the thorough search of the house, he found no trace at all of Mesmer. He even looked in the refrigerator. He was leaving the house when something in the living room caught his eye. It was some components for some device. On closer inspection, he discovered that it was a part of a simulator helmet. Nearby, there was a bat lying in a small almost miniscule pool of blood.

Shuddering, he left the house quickly. When he was safe at home again, he called the police and reported a possible kidnapping. He was just about to log back onto Interface to contact the moderator when he heard a sound coming from the front door. As he reached it, the door burst open and standing there was somebody holding a knife. Faster than he could see, the knifepoint was at his throat.

The person said angrily, "How did you know about the user Mesmer's accident?"

Demortayse gulped and said, "A moderator told me."

The person asked, "You're the user Demortayse, right?"

He asked, "How would you know something like that?"

The person smiled menacingly and said, "I hacked into his character profile and from there, hacked into those of all of the people on the friend's list. From there on, I needed only the names and ages and other sorts to access the world database."

"Whyare you doing this?"

"Mesmer saw something something he shouldn't have on Interface. He may have told somebody. I can't be certain..."

Demortayse said, "Well, I don't know anything about it."

The person continued, "Better safe than sorry...I've sent an assassin after that character Sungiver the Appraiser. It won't be long before Mesmer and all his friends are dead. Oh and I'll let you see your friend one last time. GRIST!"

Another man appeared with an unconscious body. It must have been Mesmer. Thinking quickly, Demortayse began backing away to where he knew he kept a metal staff.

The first person shifted his attention back to Demortayse and asked suspiciously, "What do you think you're doing?"

Then he lunged with the knife. Demortayse barely managed to reach the staff in time and club the knife wielder. The other man growled and pulled out a gun, while holding Mesmer in the other arm. Suddenly, Mesmer's arm shot up and connected with the man's chin. The man sank to the floor as did Mesmer. Demortayse wondered if it had just been something in the game that triggered it because on further investigation, Mesmer was still unconscious.

He had to get to a safe place to log back into Interface and warn Sungiver. However, he had to contact all of Mesmer's other friends too. They were all in danger. There was a safe uploading link at an Interface administration building downtown. He knew he couldn't get there riding the bicycle. Glancing down, he noticed a set of keys by the knife wielder. He smiled, picked them up, and walked outside, trying to carry Mesmer.

About an hour later, he was there. He explained the situation to some of the security guards and later the manager of the building and got access to one of the safety room loading points.

Minutes later, he was back in the Interface moderation agency. He rushed into Agrioth's office and she looked up at him.

"So?"

"I need to contact Sungiver now. Somebody's trying to kill all of Mesmer's friends."

"What? That's not possible! Not unless, they hacked in...Oh no...that was the breach in security yesterday. This isn't good."

"Of course it isn't. Let's go!"

"Right."

Agrioth put a hand on Demortayse and said, "I doubt I should be doing this but....this is a special circumstance."

Then, they teleported back to Sungiver's castle.

Demortayse said, "I found Mesmer. He's alive...barely. I also found out, somebody's been hired to kill you Sungiver...in the real world."

[oh my gosh this is long...X.x If I need to change something...do tell...]

Leone looked at Demortayse, it had been so long...

Then his information set in, the colour drained from her face, making her scales lose their lustre. She gulped and nodded slowly. "What should we do about this? Should I log out and go to the Interface centre where I live then log back on?"

She glanced around in a slightly paranoid way, "How do these people who hurt Mesmer expect to get to me? Personal details, like where users live, can't just be accessed anywhere. And I don't live in Alaska... or even the United States..." Looking at Demortayse, she gave him a hopeful grin, "If this whole thing hadn't happened, we'd all be on our way to save you right now. We were about to set out on a quest.... Isn't it ironic that you were the only one who lived near Mesmer who could help?"

Sat Mar 19, 2005 6:44 am

Urth couldn't help but overhear the conversation. An assassination attempt, just because someone was playing a game? Nothing made sense at all. "I believe I might know how the person might have found you. The game has to send packets back to you so you can recieve feedback. All he'd have to do is somehow hack into the Interface mainframe and see where the packets are going. Just why would anyone want to assassinate you anyway? Or Mesmer for that matter?"

The recent news had scared Tim. He set the game to keep him on auto-pilot, giving him a written log of whatever anyone said to him when he came back. He checked all the doors and windows, making sure they were locked. For the final touch, he left an aluminum baseball bat hidden near the machine, then logged back on. From there, he checked his log and configured the game to warn him about any noises from the outside.

Kaei stood up from kneeling at Mesmers side and she walked over to the new comer. " So is Mesmer going to live please tell me he is! He will be alright right?" Kaei said inan unusually emotional tone for her. And suddenly she broke down crying and she went back to mesmer and kneeled by him still crying.
