The new editorial clarifies things:

In the last editorial you said that you came up with a new system for war that'll mAKe things more fair for the weaker pets. I don't think this is fair though to the people who spend time and np to get their pets up to where they are and then have some person who doesn't even know how to battle get close to as many points as them. - pyrowave13

It is ok. Just wait and see :D The people with the stronger pets will be able to challenge different opponents, and earn more points from that as a result. It just means that if you have a weaker pet there will still be something for you to fight and hopefully plenty of things all all levels of battling to please everyone.

That makes me happier. :)

Usually in wars everyone gets the same opponents, but it looks like this time different classes of battlers will fight different characters. If you have a weak pet, you'll fight easier opponents than the people who have strong pets. But it doesn't seem like they're going to make those easier opponents worth as many points as the hard ones, so elite battlers will still get higher scores. Works for me.

This probably means we'll have to choose one pet to use in the war, right?

Yeah. My sediments also. They will most likely ask me to pick 1 pet to send to the war and they will have some kind of guide that determines whether ur pet is strong or weak or average. Then they will issue the enemies. Wonder wad the guide will be... Hope it is good.

This method is pretty good to me. GIves everyone a chance ya noe?

I'm still convinced that the old way was and still is the best.
If someone can explain how fighting weak opponents is "Taking Advantage" of anything, please do so, because i'm at a loss here and on the verge of forgetting this war altogether.
TNT's excuses for slacking off are getting more and more sad.

Chao, IMHO there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with a higher strength pet battling weak opponents. First of all, what is usually released first? The first wave = weak opponents. Now I know alot of the really '1337' battlers sit this wave out - I know alot did during the last war because of the darned poison. But even many of the stronger bd'ers will battle at least a few of the weaker first wave, if for no other reason than to get into the swing of things.

Personally, I think everyone should be able to take on any opponent open to their side. That way, the weaker pets get a chance to battle and score some war points, maybe learn a few things (I know I did the last war - my first), and give challenging a stronger opponent a try. It's great practice for weapons, strategy and what your pet needs in terms of training if you decide you really DO like battling. The stronger pets of course, will take on the more challenging opponents.

There's nothing wrong with the system as it stands - what there was a problem with re: the last war was the way it was rushed, the way the waves were poorly planned/released and ultimately, the way the "prizes" were distributed and what said "prizes" were.

The idea of limiting opponents by pet stats is beginning to bother me. Why? Because there's already almost a caste system in the bd - if your pet is under, at minimum, 125 strength, then many times you get called the infamous n name, laughed at, told to leave, etc. I feel, at this point, that having a war based on stats will only highlight the differences and make this system worse.

I will save final determination/thoughts on this until the actual opponents are released and this "new" method of battling is put in place.

125 Boost...

If TNT does make a certain 'cut off' point between 1337 and 'n' then would it be not advantageous for a 'n' battler like me to hold off on the 125 boost and wait for TNT to make a final decision?

I'd predict it would be to my advantage to be within the top of a percentile in terms of stats and war prizes rather than at the bottom end of the percentile.

lynnie, I feel that going to the expense (codestones, etc.) of training to the 125 boost for this war would really depend on how exactly this "new" method is going to be introduced.

Of course, most of us would like to have our pets be as high in stats as possible, but due to how expensive training can get, along with trying to get decent weapons to go with those stats (are you going to use a sparkshooter and wooden shield with a 125 strength/defense pet?), this can be daunting, especially for a newer battler who doesn't know their way around the bd, doesn't know what weapons would be best for them and just doesn't have the np for uber-training/uber-weapons.

Right now, I am still considered a 'n' battler because my pet is not at 125 yet. Working towards it slowly, but can only afford 1 training per day, so at present just working on endurance.

I just feel that a new system of war, with people separated as far as their stats will ultimately just magnify the differences between the elite and not so elite. Unless of course, the person with the weak pet is one of those infamous n binators. I really have no respect for anyone who has a weak pet and a 25 million np set (eca, h4k, sos, etc.) just so they can go around beating others with weak pets.

So the new system once again would not be fair, because there are people with those types of pets and sets. Just as there are people with stronger pets who've spent most of their np on training and haven't gotten to the better weapons yet. Those people are also at something of a disadvantage due to a not great set.

Doubtful. Donna said spending lots on fancy weapons wouldn't be helpful for this war.

Of course, she also said you can get a garlic pet by feeding it lots of garlic, so. . . .
