ok, my final attempt at a set, wolf's rain, since you seemed to like the blog I'm guessing that's the direction you wanted us to go in. I sat and worked with the same images and this is what happened.

This set lost quality when I saved it to gif format. I am a bit disappointed in the overall look, but thought it was neat enough to share.

You are in extreme luck, I've made a wallpaper and I feel it turned out very well. Might actually add something to it and submit to dev but here you go, the original non-text copy. :P I'll add text later if I think it fits, otherwise, here it is. Oh and the size is 1024 x 768, if you need it smaller, notify me :)

Cleo, you might want to try .png if your program allows you to. .png allows you to use transparency (png-24 that is).

Cleo - It's a nice way you done it. Pretty unique. However, yeah, .png is much better and I could see it. :)
