Cosforums was my favorite forum site! It was a site for Harry Potter fans and now it is shut down for apparently distributing copywrited material. Now we discussed JK Rowlings books, many of the fans posted lenthy excerpts from her books word for word in the discussion. I don't see how that is wrong. But I suppose someone did. Now I am wondering who told who to shut the site down and why? I don't know what happened but if you go to
http://www.cosforums.com it is shut down! I just wanted to let everyone here at pinkpt know that if you are discussing a book, a song, or anything like that, don't put anything word for word. I think you can post maybe a paragraph, I don't know. I don't know what the limit is. But from now on anyone discussing any copyrighted material needs to be careful. Really...could we be shut down for posting our own pictures of neopets that we drew ourselves? Could we be shut down for posting the news word for word when the news goes live on neopets? What are the rules? How does someone just shut a site down? I don't know how it works. If pinkpt is shut down there goes just about all the fun I have online.

This REALLY ticks me off. We are going to have to be careful about what we post from now on, because some stick in the mud is going to report us.
I don't think JK had anything to do with this. I hope not or all forums discussing her books are going to be in trouble.

I am also upset because I'll loose my post count there, if they ever get the site back up, which they probably will sooner or later with more rules about what we can post. But anyway, older members get more privelages and I'll have to start over and make a new account and meet all the people I like over again.


Oh My gosh..I feel for it. This is apparently an early April Fools Joke. But it isn't really funny because well..people do post lenghty word by word excerpts from her books. Also there was a leak of a poster that no one was supposed to see yet. And it gave away some clues to the new book. So I really believed that this was true. And now I guess it has to be a joke but it was believeable.

The thing at the top sort of gives it away.

It looked kind of official to me. But I was wondering how they could be downloading anything on a forum. But then I thought about how people post like a whole page word for word right out of the book. That isn't downloading though.

Plus If you right click on the images and click 'Properties' It's got the web adreww which starts with http://www.cosforums so it's kind of a givaway...

I did select all and it gave everything away.

There's no such rating called "Illegal Downloading"...

All the April Fools jokes are just so freaking obvious this year. X_X
