Block him. You probably shouldn't have your AIM name visible on these forums, either. There are a lot of nice people here, but there are nasty lurkers, too.

I don't really think there much needed to be done here. Just block the person :D

They have no right to ask for your username and password. Doesn't matter if they're from here or from Jupiter, they can't ask for your password :)

EDIT: Stole your sig :P

You can only use the Neopets abuse form to report them if you know their Neopets username. Also, you can't really prove it unless they're asking you in Neomail.

Yes, they told me their username was aphromeda
I sent a neomail to that username asking if they had been talking to me in AIM .. after that they signed off AIM.. I am not stupid I am not going to give out my password, it just really bugged me.. I don't know if I can show what they were asking me, if I can let me know I could block out the username or something.. they had their friend IM me and say they were not a scammer too then she told me to go to her forum LINK BLOCKED.com and I said I would check it out she said NOW I said excuse me? And then she called me a F*$^ Face, I blocked her. Then the other person kept asking if we could share spare accounts and other things.. makes me so mad! And asking to lend my grey pet for her FQD

Change your password just in case her site had a cookie grabber.

Also, don't report that username until you get a response back. The scammer could have been (and probably was) lying, and that's probably some uninvolved person's account. Maybe the scammer has a problem with aphromeda and is trying to make her look bad.

I doubt the scammer really owns that account, because a scammer wouldn't risk a nice account like that with lame scams like this. I'm interested in hearing what kind of response you'll get to your neomail.

Just to let you know, this person has IMed me too. They asked me about my neopets username and if I had MSN. I wasn't very forthcoming with information and they stopped talking with me. I blocked them as a result of seeing this though.

I'm finally back for the summer, although hopefully I'll spend a little more time away from this screen.

So long as you didn't hand over any information it should all be okay :D

You can always try taking a screencap of the MSN/AIM conversation and then sending that along with the report as proof. It may not be as good as neomail but its better than just words.

I highly doubt that it was their real username. And I would be completely shocked if it was. Aphromeda seems like a good and nice enough person to not go about doing things like this.

Aphromeda is a well-known neopian and the scammer is probably using her name as a fake cover.

This really is a no-brainer, just block that person and that's it. So long you don't actually give out your password nothing can happen.

Thanks for alerting us though. There have been a couple of reports lately, seems like some guy's idea of an April Fools joke is to go around scamming PPTers.

Completely agreed. The majority of the forum won't give you a problem, but there always will be things like this. It's just so much wiser to not list your AIM name here at all. I didn't at first, and that resulted in a hack threat, not just for Neopets, but for AIM, etc.
