He better be man he was probly the best pope man, he was the most traveled, they were saying on the news that if you compare all the milage of his 104 or more trips it equils the amount on going to the moon and back

Well, here's a list of the 20th century's popes.

Pope Leo XIII (25 years)
Pope Pius X (11 years)
Pope Benedict XV (7 years)
Pope Pius XI (17 years)
Pope Pius XII (19 years, 7 months)
Pope John XXIII (4 years, 7 months)
Pope Paul VI (15 years)
Pope John Paul I (33 days)
Pope John Paul II (26 years)

I think that Pope John Paul II should be cannonized, although ti would be a difficult job for the cardinal chosen as devil's advocate.

I've never known any other Pope's so John Paul dying was a bit of blow... This also means that I acn't really say whether or not he should be cannonized, since I can't really compare him to any other Popes.

But there's no doubt that he was unbelievable.

Pope Paul VI died in 1978, and John Paul I became pope on August 25th. He died on September 28th, 33 days after he became pope. Some conspiracy theorists believe he was murdered, but since it is tradition for an autopsy not to be carried out on the body, they still don't know.

Then if he was murdered, the person got away with it.

How old was he when he died?

The 20th century Pope that was sainted was Pius X, I believe. First one sainted since the 1500's(?), in any case.

That's not enough to be canonized.

I'm not sure of the whole process in becoming a saint, but I know it was created as a system officially in the 10th century by Pope John XV and then again in 1983 by John Paul II, but I think that was just to remove or edit the role of the Devil's Advocate.

Becoming a saint is a very lengthy process. Essentially, a bishop of the area where the person worked will research the candidates life and actions for evidence of heroism(or hero virtue). That info goes to the vatican and to the Congregation for Cause of Saints, who will analyse the candidates life.

If agreed upon that they are a candidate, the Pope will deem them venerable ( a person who is a catholic mode). At this point, a beatification must occur. For someone to be beatified, a mircle must be preformed in their name. Martyrs(I beleive an example would be Joan of Arc) are waved from this. The last step in becoming a saint is the occurence of a second true miracle.

All miracles for beatification must be done posthumous, thats why a lot of the things that John Paul II did during his life don't make him a saint right off.
