I'm not alowwed to chat anywhere but the furry-paws.com chat room, but I probably won't be doing that much anymore considering everyoone over there hates me nwo and all.
I want to chat in the Pinkpt one but I'm afraid to even ask my mom because she will get "the look" and start talking about pedophiles and such.

I don't really have anywhere to rant but here, plus I was hoping some of yall could help? I asked mom once and she said she think about it, but she never gave me an answer.

Edit: And heck, now she even says she said no to furry paws. Yes, I did ask her at a bad time, but she had SEEN me chatting on furry paws!

T'be honest, the chat isn't all that good, on any forum. It's usually very slow to load, and talking about paedophiles... eh... if she lets you post on a forum, and you're not allowed to chat in the box on the same forum, that's a bit... strange? Don't mention it to her though, you could be banned from forums too.

Is my understanding of this correct?

I mentioned that to her I was all "How can a chat be any less safe, espicially if its run by the same people?" and she was all "It just *flustered* ...IS!"

You have to remember though, your mom isn't doing it to make you mad. She's saying you can't chat to protect you from what happens to quite a few kids. Maybe if you let her browse around the forums, she'd see they're not bad at all and let you chat?

I don't use the chat myself, mostly since too much java makes my PC freeze up -_- So I can't say whether or not you're missing much.

You've got one protective mum there br00ster. I can't really say what to do, because quite often you have to know the person before you can judge their motives. You could tell her that the chat is monitored (dunno if it is) and that such disgusting behaviour by pedophiles isn't tolerated. Otherwise, I dunno.

Well, she gave me my way but it doesn't work on my comp. Still, shedoes this all the time. Oh well, thats her, i guess.

Well, at least you got the pride of knowing you won I don't think it's fair that your mum is blocking you off from chats though. It's just like not allowing you to go down the street or to the park or shops or something unless she's there with you. Out of all the chatters in the world, I wouldn't even say that 0.1% of them are pettos.

But I guess for the few that are, you gotta watch out for. Don't wanna run into them

The best thing to do is say to her "Okay, how about this. I use the Chat, and you sit there next to me. If you feel that it's dangerous, kick me off."

When we talk about nice things, she'll hopefully let you on it
