Does the Birthday sidebar do anything?

Apparently it is supposed to increase the chances of you receiving random events

It's meant to increase the amount of REs you get, and it also gets rid of the ads for you

No ads and more REs

Although... most people say that the RE increase was very small, and some people noticed nothing at all.

That would have been me. Mind you I got no random events for a number of days either side of my Birthday. I was never sure if they'd removed the random events during the war and that was the reason *shrugs*

I thought it was somebody from PPT who said that

I think that TNT did remove the REs from the wartime though. IT had something to do with the whole sickness deal and people not wanting their Maraqaran pets to turn blue or red.

Except that your pet's mood isn't affected if you don't visit Quick Ref.

You sure it's not affected? I know that going to Quickref makes it's mood deteriorate very fast, but I'm pretty sure it'd go down anyway. At least I always thought it did o_O

Although the chance of RE's is supposed to go up, I didn't notice much of a change on my birthday. The lack of banner ads was nice, but the ads on the bottom were still there.

My problem with the birthday sidebar is that it's only on your birthday. You'd think they'd make it something like the day before and after as well. On your birthday you are supposed to celebrate with a party, get together with family and friends, enjoy your new presents and such. I hardly had any time at all to go on Neopets.

I always wondered the same thing. Christmas, Easter, Birthday, Valentines, etc all those days a lot of people actually spend that time away from the computer doing other things and yet all these additional "special" things turn up on those days.

Yep, I'm sure. The Premium Portal has a module that shows you your active pet and all its stats. The last time my pet was sick, I stayed away from Quick Ref and his mood didn't deteriorate at all.

Yep, I'm sure. The Premium Portal has a module that shows you your active pet and all its stats. The last time my pet was sick, I stayed away from Quick Ref and his mood didn't deteriorate at all.

Hmmm, I guess I can't argue with the Portal deal though. Well that makes life a lot easier if my pet gets sick at least

It is also supposed to increase you chance of winning at the fruit machine. a friend of mine won the 10K+pb+muffin last month for the first and only time.

My birthday was yesterday but I didn't get to enjoy my sidebar that much. During the time I used it I didn't really notice that much of a change. I did win a faerie from tombola though.

I got a lot of random events on the 2nd during mine, but they were all quite dumb. After the 5th time some red poogle hopped past saying hi I wanted to strangle the little monster for taking up precious RE space that could have been occupied by a fountain faerie quest or visit from Jacko.
