When exactly IS Passover (and Chanukah for that matter) each year? I mean, Christmas is always the 25th of December and Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon of spring. So I'm just curious to know how the calander works as far as the Jewish holidays go. I've never had that explained to me.

Unlike the English calendar, the Jewish calendar goes according to the moon. Which is why the holidays fall out on different English dates each year. Passover is celebrated the day the Jews came out of Egypt, on the 15th of the Jewish month of Nissan, which is usually around March/April. And Chanukah is celebrated on the 25th of Kislev, usually in December.
I'm going to be home a whole Passover. I can't wait.
