Orlando Bloom : Love him, hate him, don't really care?

I'd have more of an opinion if I'd ever seen him in a role set in the present day. Period pieces are nice and all, but there's enough costume and language issues to distract from whether or not the kid can actually act.

Yes, I've noticed that too. All the major movies he's been in since LotR have been historical, swordfighting epics. They're great and all, but as you said, I'd like to see him in a modern day role. Pirates of the Caribbean was amusing (I wouldn't watch it just for him, or even for the acting or script; it's just a mindless movie that's fun to watch), LotR was ok because he really wasn't the star charactor, but Troy made me cringe. And this new movie that he's in, "Knights of Heavan" or something, looks the same as all the others he's been in.

In all honesty, he's not that attractive. I mean he's pretty as Legolas, but that's it. And all of the fangirls... bleh.
Also, don't ever get in a "Who is hotter: Orlando Bloom or..." fight with a fangirl of his. You most likely will not win.

Well, I'm not a hug fan of his. (Don't see what all the hype is. There are plenty better and more handsome actors out there waiting to be found.) My friend happens to be quite obsessed with him, but I just don't get it. Then again, I never was a person to idolize celebrities.

I love him! He is absolutely gorgeous! He was definatly the best as legolas in the Lord of the Rings.

I didn't even know who Orlando Bloom was untill after I saw the first 2 Lotr movies on dvd last year...
Even before that, I decided that Legolas was favorite character, and when I saw what Orlando really looked like, I went 'Ugh, I don't have the like the actor, i'll just keep liking the character'...
But later on I saw him in Pirates, and decided that he wasn't so bad.
I guess overall I don't like him as much as I used to...

I dont hate him and I don't love him. I think he's pretty cool. I don't think he's the best actor to date but you have to admit he is nice to look at. But, I dont think thats the most important thing, you definitly have to act to grab my attention(Johnny Depp). But, I was kinda secretly obsessed over him for a little while when POTC first came out. But, over all I think he's okay.

He, himself, is a mediocre actor. I don't really see what's so great about him. And I truly don't understand why he gets all these really good parts in films.

His three expressions in PotC are "Huh?", confused, and slighty-angry-but-still-looking-pretty-confused-to-me-pretty-boy. He's not even that pretty. ¬_¬
