This is gift art for my riding association. An hour and a half with a pen and I figured it would be enough for a freebie. My hand hurts now (it better get more then twenty bucks, i'll be peeved if it doesn't. Grr.)

It's supposed to be a cute looking pony. But anyone who rides knows that ponies are truly evil, so this guy is really plotting world domination and the theft of the gold carrots. His name is Gogmagog and he likes to trample flowers and deface pretty green lawns by pawing them. (You thought I was going to say something else, didn't you? Dirty you!)
I like pictures with a story. Makes them more fun.
Some detail was lost in this scan, may it RIP.

I love all the detail in the hair and fur (though it seemed to get a bit scratchy in the mane area but that might just be the scanner messing around). You really get a sense of the texture and depth.

It is.
I lost detail. I was using a .005 Micron pen for awhile... in the mane and in some fuzzyness on his face... and I lost it all. My scanner hates pens. Loves shading, hates small lines. Makes me nuts.
It can scan my stupid goat man like a dream, but anything with ink it destroys. Makes me cry it does.

And thankyou. I'm rather fond of it myself, but it'll go to a good home (I should hope!).

Ah yes, I know a pony like that... All cute and fluffy, but he bites your butt when you turn your back on him :) Very hard to clean his hooves.

I love the detail of the nose and the wrinkles of his neck, it's just like the real thing! And it's way better than I could ever do... My anatomy is just plain horrible and I can't draw with pens and ink ^^;

Yup! those are the ones.
I hate it when they pick up their feet, you shift to take their foot and then they slam their hoof back down, aiming for your foot. Or when you go to pick up a back foot... and they pass gas, and you know they do it on purpose by the way they groan in happiness.
Silly ponies.
Or the ones that when you're pettting them on their head they start to nuzzle up, and then they take a chunk out of your leg... oh yeah. I know the type. Little bloody... *anywho*

Thankyou. it's not overly realistic, I made it cuter then I should've... but it's for kids, so meh. Thats O.K by me. Pen and ink just takes practice, once you get it, you get it, and then it's all good!

I like it, very detailed and nice.
The only thing is that the shoulder (sorry, not sure if thats what its called or not) seems a bit big to me. I don't know why, but it seems a bit bulky. Its probably that I'm used to thoroughbreds not fat ponies.
But I love it! The head and ears are so perfect, as is the neck and mane.

The horse looks so real! The hair is so lovely; you could feel the texture!

Aaah! You know the evil of ponies too! He's very cute, fluffy, and EBIL. I love it. O-O I have to ask, though, what kind of pony is he? He looks different from the ones we have at my riding association. (We have mostly Shetlands.)

Shetlands are cute and evil... The pony I was talking about is a Hafling (sp?), and he looks a bit like the pony in the drawing ^_^

Yes. 05, 03, 01 and 005 Micron pens. Just think uneraseable pencils.

This guy? Frankly I don't know. The picture I took the anatomy off of (well bits and pieces of the anatomy) involved a warmblood/throughbred/quarter horse. So frankly i'm not sure what he is.
Probably some sort of welsh pony sections C or D cross or maybe a chubby quarter pony; or just a grade.
*shrug*

Brilliant, as always.

Breathtakingly annoying, in fact.

It really helps when you feel an affinity with the subject in the first place, and I think you can tell. :)
