Wow, Muse are playing at the Live 8. I was going to go to the G8 Summit anyway as I went to pre-protest in London but if there's a chance I can go see Muse.... <3

I absolutely love them, and Matt Bellamy (Rrrrrrar!) has a voice that I can sing along with. It's fabby.
My mate couldn't believe anyone could stay in tune with the songs... I proved him wrong. Mwa hahahaaa.

I like Muse :). My favourite song by them would have to be Hysteria. I'm fortunate enough to have seen them live yet :(. I doubt they'd ever come to New Zealand so yeah =\

I love them but their newer album "Absolution" is not as good as their older albums.

My favourite songs would be Feeling Good, Sunburn and Plug in baby :P

Muse! I love love love them. I've heard they're very good live, and I'd love to go see them, but I doubt they'll be anywhere near me any time soon. *pout* I like "Time Is Running Out", "Hysteria", and "Butterflies and Hurricanes".

I detest this band with a vengeance.

They are utterly useless and have no talent what so ever. I cannot stand Matt Bellamy because he's over-rated and all they're songs are repetative.

Of course his voice is distinguishable because no-one else whines like a girl. To fill the senseless void of their tedious songs, he will throw in perpetual "ooooh-ing" for instance Plug In Baby, Micro Cuts, Time Is Running Out etc etc.

Don't even get me started on how they murdered Nina Simone's Feeling Good.....

:o Have you not heard the piano bit in Butterflies and Hurricanes? No talent! Blasphemy!

No, to each his own.

I rather enjoy his girly voice though. :D

Exactly... I would like them, but I don't :P

If I was a couple of years younger and less wise I might actually give them a chance. But I was put off ever since the first time I saw them.

Obviously I wouldn't contradict myself by saying I actually paid to see them, of course not. I went to see them a good couple of years ago when they weren't famous and supporting a local band I knew. Of course these were back in the old days when I was oblivous to them and the bassist wore chunky glasses like that chap does in Weezer.

Nina Simone didn't sing Feeling Good originally.

Here's a snippet from a Muse fansite called Microcuts -

Have Muse ever done any covers?

The band covered those songs:
- "Feeling good" originally sung by Nina Simone
- "House of the rising Sun" originally sung by Nina Simone, The Animals, Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton...
- "Can't take my eyes off you" originally sung by Frankie Vallie, Manic Street Preachers...
- "Please, please, please, let me get what I want" originally sung by The Smiths

So it appears even Muse fans can't get it right.

I don't know... but to me, they sound kind of generic. Their songs aren't easy to recognize. There's nothing quite spectacular about them... and even if I did like them once I ended up getting bored of them.

They're okay. Not fabulous, not horrible.

Their cover of House of the Rising Sun is bone chilling.

I also think Stockholm Syndrome is quite good.
