All right. I've got some pets with somewhat decent stats and not-so-decent weapons, a good neohome, a giant deposit box, and just shy of 2.3 million neopoints. And none of it goes anywhere. The question I've been asking myself is: What now? The last war sucked horribly and I could hardly fight at all in it, I can't make any more money because the competition in restock has become more than I can handle, and I don't feel like wasting my hard-earned money on stuff. So I'm stuck. Indeed, what now? What should I do?

Perhaps you could make a gallery? You're not really wasting your neopoints on stuff as you are getting items which you can always convert into neopoints again at a later time and it'll give you something to think about collecting, collect, present and even perhaps apply for the gallery award. Other than that, all I can say is that you're not the only one who sometimes feels like that, I do too :)

XD; That happened to me so many times - I got bored and had to take a break for a couple of weeks/months before coming back and finding a new addiction (whether it was to get X painted pets or another lab account or whatever).

One random goal you could try for is really expensive weapons or petpets. Or gaming avs, or just idly browse around and keep on collecting nps until you feel like saving up for that SoS or whatever.

Breaks are good though - sometimes after you come back, you can look at the game with a different non-bored angle D:

When I joined Neopets, I played only for the games (I had a boring summer job and needed something to do). After that first summer, I got bored with the site and stopped playing for almost a year, and when I started up again it was a lot more fun than I remembered. I still get bored sometimes, but I always have goals I want to reach -- a faerie pteri and niptor (got those), the top bank account level (got that), a big gallery (I've just started), the 125 strength boost, certain weapons... I think I could go on forever. If there aren't any goals you want to reach right now, take a break for a while, and when you come back I bet you'll find the site's more fun than you remembered.

Definitely go for the gallery. They're the only way to travel if you're looking to set yourself a nice, long-term goal.

I'm kinda in the same boat as you, keep getting np but don't want to spend it, dont know what to do. So I found something to occupy my time that doesn't cost money: collecting trophies :D That "20 trophies" guide on the PPT main page is great. Working on Pyramids right now. :)
You know, the thing that really sucks about my situation is that I have countless goals (another lab map, Faerie PB, Plushie PB, Electric PB, 2 Spotted PBs, Fire PB... yeah, I want to paint all my spare account pets) but feel they're too out of reach and I'll never get all of them, so I just sit here with my bank account locked up o.o

Those are all good suggestions, I also found I was enjoying my time more when I started a gallery. :)

However, if you are creatively inclined, and want a long-term goal that can also win trophies and items, I recommend trying the various contests on neo. (They are: Neoadventure; Petpage; Lookup; Gallery; User-made levels for Faerie Caves, Tyrannian Miniature Golf, Hannah and the Pirate Caves, Escape From Meridell Castle; Neopian Times Stories or Art; Beauty Contest; Storywriting contest; Poems; Caption Contest; Random Contest. *Whew!*) I myself have a nifty Neoadventure that I recently submitted for the spotlight, and it's really ncie to have something long-term to work on that I'm good at. :)

I know this is slightly off topic, but what kinds of galleries would be suitable for someone that makes all their np through games and sucks at restocking?

I mean, I know I could pick just about anything and work on it, but I'd like to find something that might have an end to it so I wouldn't get bored and give up on it in the future. The things I like - cats and dragons - don't really have too much impact on neopets items, so I'm open to suggestions.

Omni and all. Yes I do go through phases where I basically just log in to do dailies, get my interest, feed my pets, check the boards I either like to post or lurk on, then log out.

Right now, I'm trying to do 2 things -- insane, since I'm on dial up and I just can't rs, just too slow. I'm still trying to train my battle pet (mainly for DoN and other misc. one player opponents), upgrade at least one weapon AND I've started a new gallery. Not realizing/doing any research first and finding out now that I've started it that it's going to be uber expensive.

If nothing else, it's got me back in the games room. And I even stock my shop from my bulging sdb every now and then to help pay for all those training codestones. It's all very slow going, but I figure it's a good way to keep my interest up.

Of course, there is something to be said for every now and then just putting your pets in the lodge for about a week and just not logging in for that time. Just to clear you head.

Maybe start a neohome? Neohomes can be quite fun if you enjoy things like that, it's time consuming perfecting it and as expensive as you want it to be. Galleries can also be quite fun, but they can get quite expensive, but since you have np to burn that could be quite fun.

[edit] Just read you have a neohome ;) So I also say galleries. Though you could start collecting avatars or something?

You have to set yourself some goals, or get involved with a fansite (PPT included ;)) An example of goals could be:

- Make a gallery
- Work on your neodeck
- Expand your neohome
- Work on a guild
- Try to make it so your neopets CAN fight in the next war
- Work on your petpages

Use your imagination, I'm sure you could find more ;)

I try a lot of different things in the site, like playing Neoquest, or practicing for games for the next scores reset. But most of the time, I blow my nps on... worthless items! :D

Last time also, I blew a million to buy nerkmids. I broke even because I was given a plushie PB. LOL. :P

Hey, take my approach, set a few goals (mine are stuff like Maraquan PB, beating NQII on evil, etc.) and once you meet them... Quit. I went on vacation for the past 10 days and got home yesterday. Didn't touch Neopets once the whole vacation and I must say, it feels kind of weird, but I really don't miss it that much. I did a little bit of stuff today, but it just seems really boring. Maybe once I have less stuff to do I'll miss it more, but hey, I'm glad to see that it's not going to hurt that much to quit.

I'm feeling the same as you, except I haven't reached all that yet :P Actually my bank account is empty and I keep having to play games to get money to do stuff which is boring so I don't. I've also given away pets, items, etc. just for a kick but nothing's worked. *sigh*
The only reason I'm still on is for a couple of minutes a day for lab rays, and that's it. Even that's getting dull.

I think I'm getting old for neopets!

You said something about not wanting to spend any of your hard earned Neopoints, so I don't know whether or not this would apply.

In addition to the above suggestions though, you could also do the stock market. That's basically all I've been doing the past year and I earned some nice chunks of change every once in a while when a certain stock does well.
