So far I have done very well on items that have inflated and gained tons from it :D Just joined pinkpt because I found it very helpful with idb and digifort :) First of all, when neopets changes the disease that you get from the wheel, stock up! Look what happened with the magic cookie and neopox pizza, luckily I stocked up on about 50 pizzas...But, that was back then...what may inflate now? Well, I have noticed that stamps have been selling for tons lately...ummagine stamp used to be crap, now look at it! If you look at the retired stamps or stamps that will no longer be released you will see a trend in the price...an increase...I actually stocked up on 10 when they were 100k but now look at 'em ;) I also was able to stock on the discovery of fire stamp when it was released in BTY now theyre 1mil! I also stocked up on the Tyrannia Stamp, one of the first stamps ever released and never to be released again...it was once 200 np, I took hold of this opportunity and bought around 100, now they are 14k, and bound to rise...Imagine how much they'll be in a year, or less, maybe you'll see a 10k increase in a month or 2...Ok, thats my inflation advice, if anyone has any other items that they think will increase, please post!!!!

Intentional inflation is bad, yes. But I don't see the harm in holding items in anticipation that they will inflate. It's just like the stock market, except you're playing with real virtual items instead of virtual virtual items. Or something.

It is all kind of figurative, is it not? Items that people think will inflate WILL inflate due to stock-up-ers.

Maybe I am the only one that do not think that it is bad. I felt that it is just another way of making nps.

As long as you dun go around lying everyone that this items is going to be inflated, I think it is all right.

I dont see much wrong with this. Just some smart thinking. Especially with the pharmacy disease thing.

Artificial inflation is bad. Real inflation is a fact of a semi-realisic economy.

As long as Neopets goes with this pretty good, manageable format or Alan Greenspan doesn't decide to open up an account and form sort of central banking system, things should be relatively decent.

But this is the real world. The fittest survives. If you can Outwit, Outplay and Outlast others you can survive. (I soundlike Jeff from Survivor)

A self-fulfilling prophecy!

I definately think there is a difference. People choosing to be smart and stock up on items that have just retired because they know they are going to become rare is one thing, it is when people go around over-buying and telling others to buy when the "artificial/forced" inflation is occuring and is the type TNT frowns upon.

I love inflaters :D It's fun watching their shops with 325 of the same item almost UB when the market goes *POOF* and suddenly that item is worth less than 1k :D Very, VERY entertaining!

Personally I think books might start inflating, especially if they are actually planning on doing something with your pets' intelligence stat.

Yeah, I was looking at the prices of halloween goodie bags, remember how they were inflated to like 20K on halloween, now they're plodding along at 9K or so, with people having huge amounts of them stocked in their shops, and probably squirrelled away in their SDBs. I still have my original 4, heh.

Lost Dessert medicine is where I put my money! Once people realize that you can cure the same diseases as the regular pharmacy for a fraction of the cost... look out!! People will pay anything to have a healthy pet! The gimmick is that the cures aren't guaranteed to always work... Couple that theory with the fact that there is a new Lost Desert TCG and I think I am poised to make a mint!

And, I also think that the intelligence having an effect on the bd is something big...but since theres so many cheap books out there, I doubt that all the cheap books would inflate =/ hmmm good find on the medicine, how cheap are they?

Tyrannia stamp rose 2k
