I saw it, and I dunno what to think of it. o.0

I liked all the action and stuff, but was annoyed by how sometimes I wnated them to shut-up and sometimes i wnated them to talk, so yeha I did want to smack them. I didnt think the movie was gonna be 2 hours long o.0 It was 10mins of introductions 140 minutes of running, driving, walking, and screaming, and then a 10 minute ending. Even though I disliked a lot of it I still liked it because I did get scared at times, and i liked the visuals.

Saw it today, was a bit meh.

The ending was too happy, and I still wanna know how the hell they managed to get from New Jersey to Boston so easily. (Yes, I know it's just a movie, but really, a little bit of logic now and then doesn't hurt!)

Saw it yesterday, was quite good. Thought the Stargate team could have probably wasted those Tripods.

I saw it, overall it was an okay movie. The worst thing about it was the storyline/plot they didn't really have input as to why the aliens invaded in the first place and the ending i didn't quite get(bacteria? i guess from reading this thread?). Maybe if they added some parts with the aliens talking in their lingo with english subtitles to explain their actions it would've gone much smoother. I think i expected too much out of it, since it did have potential of being a great scifi thriller movie, but it went crappy cause of the storyline/plot.

This would explain the ending:

The aliens drank water from our planet as you saw when Tom and Dakota were hiding in the underground basement. Inside the water, there was bacteria and I'm assuming, all of the aliens drank our water which infected them with bacteria which caused them to die.

If I'm wrong, please correct me.

Subtitles of what the aliens say? The movie would get laughed at really hard. What if the aliens in Aliens had subtitles?! Did you need to understand their motives? ERGH!

I was surprised by how good it was. Mmm @ Tom Cruise's HAWT son. Actually got fairly scared at parts, though I wanted to strangle the little blonde brat.

Or even if they just showed the alien side a bit more, anything with the aliens doing something as to why they did it, would've made the storyline a whole lot better. Ammer that sounds about right, lol kinda. I think i just need to read the book then.

I saw it too. It was okay, with the random mindless destruction of stuff. the plot was kinda stupid though. and there were a lot of things that weren't explained, like how certain people somehow live and go to boston when the aliens should have killed them. and the ending was pretty stupid too. i thought the aliens would win. that would have been cool

No because that takes away the cold, calculated placidity and ruthlessness of the aliens. It just turns them into people who look funny.

This movie was great, and Tom was actually great in it, but when I went into this movie, I said to myself, "I hope the Aliens don't just fall down and die." And guess what happened. *sigh*

I still think Gordon Freeman could kick those tripods butts, and, the tripods look alot like striders...

Could someone find me a good picture of the tripod thing, so I could compare it to a strider?

and another thing is that the aliens are such a rip off from 'Independance Day'..i was waiting for Will Smith to jump up and buts a nail in the aliens caps ...

people say it's VERY scary and freaky...(doesn't everyone die in the end?)

honestly, I want to see it, but I don't have the guts to XD

I saw it last night, and I have to admit that I loved it. I'm usually really nasty when critiquing movies, but there were only a few negatives about War of the Worlds. The most disappointing thing was the ending - none of my friends could figure it out. Otherwise, I'd give it two thumbs up. I was not expecting this to be such an excellent movie. Best thing I've seen since POTC. Then again, it's just my opinion.
