Gah! What's up with the internet?

Wed Jul 06, 2005 10:43 pm

I get on the internet using Internet Explorer, but it's screwed up. It's super slow and a lot of the pages refuse to load, despite the fact that my Internet Connection is excellent.

I get off IE and get on Firefox... which was fine for a while, but about thirty minutes ago it started messing up, too! When I click a link or visit a new site, it says it refused to connect to the root site, like http://www.neopets.com
or http://www.pinkpt.com, which happened to be the two main websites I've been using. Every now and then it'll let me log on... but not all the time.

I'm going to kill my cousin if he gave me a virus. My computer was fine before I left my father's house, but he stayed over here for three weeks and used my computer. He told my step-mom about halfway through that time interval that things were messing up... and I find it out late. That's great.

So now my computer's messed up and I don't know what to do. No virus scans showed any viruses... but there's probably hidded ones that I just can't dig out. Gah.

Any ideas?

I'm about to be furious. As soon as I make this post... Firefox decides... "Aah, I guess I'll cooperate."

But anyways, I've got spyware... but for some reason it's not doing anything. It could be something down in the internet provider's database or whatever.

Don't underestiate SpyWare. Delete it immediately. SpyWare always does something.

Don't underestiate, Ixistant? :P

Though he typoed, I agree with him. Get a spyware fighting program. A friend of mine says that SpyDoctor (no idea where you can get it) is fabulous.

Sometimes my internet does the same thing. I find unplugging my DSL box and the plugging it back in makes it act normal again.
Hope that could be of some help.

For spyware there is this great freeware program I use called Spybot Search and Destroy. You can google it or find it here: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
