It's time for a family vacation! Heading to Hong Kong to see some relatives, then Malaysia! Oh boy... a 16-20 hour flight? And then local planes to get where we want in Malaysia.

It's 5 AM EST right now. We're leaving at 11. Meh. I might as well not sleep.

Maybe I should stay up for 3 days straight like I did in China two years ago...

Anyhow, I probably won't be here until the 28th. I might drop in if I find an internet connection. *drags along laptop*

Woot! HK is my place XDD anyway, where in HK are you going?

Some tips while travelling around Hong Kong:
- if you ever plan to buy appliances in Hong Kong, buy it at Fortress or Broadway or large shopping malls, not those neon lights stalls 'cause they like to pry the money off you. Which probably means that you'll either spend a lot more or the quality is going to be a lot less.

- don't buy watches, clothes, silk...etc. at hawkers.

- Hong Kong is VERY hot right now. I'm sweating. >_< Bring extra clothing and a fan around. Try to stay out of the bright sun while you can.

- If you ever visit Kowloon Tong, take a trip to Festival Walk. Sure things might be expensive and escalators are evil, but take a trip there :P Haagen Daz Ice creammm....Ben and Jerry's... There's also an ice skating rink and a cinema if you're interested.

Rest I'll need to know whereabouts you're going in HK. Oh and if you're going to visit Ocean Park, the rides are not as fun as other theme parks, sadly.

Jaye, you have forgotten about "Xu Lui Shan"(chinese) in Hong Kong. Yummy dessert.

I've been to Ocean Park! I went there for my... 8th birthday? That's like, 7 years ago...

I think I'll be near the mall with the ice rink. My only relative left there lives near there. All the rest migrated to here, the US.

As for exact locations of other places.. I dunno. I'm just following my parents.

To tell you the truth. I have no idea. I might be dropping in once in awhile to state my location.

Hmm. 6:23 AM. Still haven't slept.

Hey, Have fun! I'm going to Shanghai in a couple of days as well. I went to hong kong 2 years ago! Kowloon Tong is a must, the shopping there is a delight. In general I like HK alot because it resembles the US/Europe in many aspects. Good luck with Jet lag

I'm at the Laguna Hotel on Rendang Island.

So far: Arrived at Tuen something, and then went to Yuen Long, where I stayed for 2 days at my aunt's after a 16 hour flight. Then, a 3 1/2 hour flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Went on a 5 day tour with 15 people (including us, we are five). During the tour, I ate durian and couldn't handle it; went to Pangkor island, and loads of other places. We also went to the Fireflies park, where we had a war with the mosquitoes (3 layers of OFF! and several anti-mosquito patches on face and legs saved me.)
Then, we had decided to stay longer, so we hired a personal tour guide (lazy, always dropped us off at shopping malls), ate good vegetarian food for the first time, and saw loads of temples.

Today, I went snorkling (not for the first time), and saw the most beautiful fish. The water was actually clear, unlike the other places I have been to. There has been a storm for the past 3 hours, so I desperately ran here in the rain and waited 1/2 hour for this computer. Which has really bad internet.

But I get to eat spicy food. Every day. <3 Prawn mee. You have to love those dai-pai dongs.

Oooh you went to places in HK where they have the best seafood! My dad tries to get us to go but we don't like seafood much :P
