You're not going to the Louvre?

Or the Pompidou art museum?

Thats almost as bad as my Grade 9 trip to England/Wales/Ireland in which we didn't visit the British Museum.

We didn't visit the Louvre or go inside The Centre Pompidou when we went to France, either, Sandra. We didn't have enough time to do it properly.

It's a shame really.
My cousin and her (now husband after last weekend) went to France on a school trip (he's a teacher, and they were chaperones), and apparently they went to the Louvre on the first day. Well he and half the students fell asleep on the floor of the Louvre, waiting to see it. Bleh.
He told me "I saw the Mona Lisa, so that was all that really mattered there". And oh my goodness... it was a dagger through my heart to hear that. I mean... just... margh.
I want to go so badly.

But i've yet to go to France. Ah well... one day.

I know, Inrun. I think last year got to go to the Louvre though. Pah.

Well, I'm back! We went past the Louvre at night when it was all lit up, if that's any consolating, Inrun I got a photo of the big glass triangle all prettyful!

The food was veryvery icky. Well, the stuff at the hotel was. All we ate was unhealthy junk (and badly cooked unhealthy junk at that!). The teachers got a 3-COURSE MEAL. On the first night, what many of us ate was 3 chicken nuggets and a spoonful of rice. It was just too disgusting to eat more O.o Then on the next night, all I ate was chips; I was going to eat one of the burgers, but Shell's burger was bright red inside and they all kept falling apart. Blegh. The next night we ate at a restaurant thing though I was looking forward to that, but yet again, all we had was burgers and chips. We were like, dude, we do actually eat stuff other than junk food. @_@;; The next two nights were great though Wednesday night, we had pancakes from this family-run restaurant with a rotating toilet. They were -gorgeous-. Then the last night the hotel scrouged up an ok meal Chicken and these potatos mixed with butter and cheese. Yum Breakfast was great. Despite the fact that the pain au chocolat had hardly any CHOCOLATE in it. So we just put some Nutella inside it.


The actual visits were great though! =) Well, apart from the 2nd World War museum. That just got really boring. The Stade de France was fantastic Mostly because U2 had performed there a couple of nights before. WE STOOD WHERE U2 HAD BEEN ALL SWEATY BEFORE THEY PERFORMED :3 Nobody else shared my jubilation though

The Eiffel Tower was just plain AWESOME :3 I loved every minute of it! I knew I'd regret it if I didn't go to the top, and I'm so glad I did! I wasn't scared at all. I just went really hyper and started laughing O.o;;

The waterpark was also nifty, despite the fact that the water slides gave you massive wedgies

Theme Park...well, we spent more time QUEING than we did on the rides! I got a hillarious photo of me on a water ride with a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE drop.

I never want to hear 'Is This The Way to Amarillo' again. Ever.

Every single morning, after breakfast, we would go on the coach. AND THEY WOULD PUT ON AMARILLO. *cradles ears* ;_;

Err...yeah, that's mostly it When the photos are developed, I'll post them heyarrr!

When we went on our school trip to France, the hostel made our lunches for us and did our meals...they were all skanky, they always are- you get what you pay for!

Sounds like you didn't get spit on while you were riding on the Bateau Mouche and going under bridges. Lucky you! I did. >_< On the other hand, that was the only bad thing that happened to me on my trip (oh, and the Egyptian Obelisk being turned into the World Cup trophy). The food was always fantastic, except the coq au vin we had one evening, which is mostly because I don't like the taste of wine. But I think I'm the only one who consistently enjoyed the food. Everyone else complained about *everything* I just wanted to scream 'This is not America, you lazy, fat, Big Mac eating slobs!' But given the fact that I was much lazier and fatter than anyone else in the group, that hardly would have been appropriate. ^_-

Glad you enjoyed yourself. Maybe you'll get to go back in a few years to see some of the other fantastic sites, like the Louvre, Sainte Chapelle, Versailles, and then maybe head down to southern France for stuff like Notre Dame de Chartres. Very, very nifty looking cathedral.

We thought all the French people were all really nice until one french woman turned around at me whilst I was talking to somebody and goes "HWACKH!", or something to that effect and stalked off.

We got waved at too...and spit on. I might add that it was during the World Cup, so it was likely I got spit on by another American tourist (or from any random country) rather than a French person. There were just a lot of people hanging out on the bridges, and some felt the need to spit, especially off Pont Neuf, if memory serves me. ^^;

HWACKH! Heh, that's interesting. Anyway, glad you had fun, despite your bad experience with food. Must have been nice just to visit another country, a nice break from the norm.
