Apparently you have to go into the Tomb and win/find something :) I assume you can attempt it once a day.

You can only try the tomb once per day. I almost got hit by an arrow -- my kougra shoved me out of the way, got hit himself and lost some HP. Now I have to wait before I can try again.

Random when you find something then? Either that or its is completely random when exploring the Temple.
