I thought the wind was made by trees

I thought that...
The bubbles in soda were actually eyes. I also thought that the soda was talking to me in an evil, sinister voice.
Ferns were actually the tentacles of this ugly green monster that lived far underground, and that one day, he would rise above the ground and take over the world. So I always ripped the ferns out of the ground.
There were killer lobsters under my bed.

Yeah, that has to be the strangest of them all.
New York was just New York City, and that USA was just Long Island.
Spanish was just the same as English, but backwards.
What?!? I really thought these things when I was a kid!

I too believed the thing about stuffed animals.
Has anyone here ever played the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time? Well if you haven't, you play as a little green protogonist who goes through elemental temples (Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Spirit) to rescue sages and blah de blah. I was introduced to the game at a very early age, so I actually started looking for the enterences to the different temples. I thought I actually found the forest temple, but it was a storm drain with radioactive green grass in front of it, and I was too frightened to ACTUALLY go in.
I believed in a whole plethora of mythilogical animals being real, but I always thougt bats weren't real. I was weird that way...

When I was little I used to have this four feet tall gargoyle from some Disney movie in the corner of my room. I used to believe that at night it would come alive and walk around. >.<

Oh Man. When I was in first grade (6 yrs old, I should know better) some Kindergardener tricked a bunch of friends and me to believe she was a princess descended from the skies. So that lasted a month. We did all this ridiculous stuff for her, like "gather moon rocks" and other barmy crap like that. In my defense, I was strongly influenced by Sailor Moon / Other "Girl Power" Anime at that time, and could not be held responsible for my actions.
I also believed that the Canabis leaf was a Poison Ivy

I believed that there was a man inside the fridge who turned on the light every time you opened the fridge door... well.. no not really.

I thought that if a woman dyed her hair while she was pregnent then her baby's hair would be that new color.
When my dad went to work every day I thought he was just going there to visit friends.
I thought everything had a mind. Like whenever I put a tape in the VCR I thought the VCR was thinking things like "Not this movie again" or "Wow... You're up watching a movie earlier than usual."
I thought animals communicated with eachother telepathically. Like when my cats would be laying near eachother I thought they were probably having a conversation.

I used to think Santa (or the Easter Bunny) knocked out my parents and threw them into the closet while either of them took care of the gifts.

That's great! Haha, I'll never be able to drink soda the same way again. *eyes can of pepsi*
I remembered another one of my mine yetesterday. Once my brother told me that bark (you know, off of a tree) was worth more than gold. So for a while I started ripping all the bark off of trees and putting it in my pocket, thinking I was so rich.
<corny> Unfortunetley money doesn't grow on trees. </corny>

I believed that I was a boy. When my parents told me I wasn't, I believed I was a dog. When they told me I wasn't that either, I became a normal kid and believed in Santa Claus.

I just remembered one. I used to pretend the trash can was alive and I would rip up paper to feed it. I'm not sure if I really belived it was alive, or I just pretended.

I used to think a monster lived in the toilet because of the loud noise it makes when you flush. I would flush really quick and then run out of the bathroom!

When I was small my mom told me that if I walk barefooted, my feets would grow bigger. I'm pretty sure it was to scare me from walking barefooted... but I believed her. So if I didn't have any slippers/shoes on, I'd walk as fast as I can.
And I used to be afraid of carnival rides. I had a fear of hights and the first ride I went on went up pretty high. After that, I refused to ride in any rides. Not even the choo choo train thing that just went around its tracks...bacause I thought It'd fly when I get on. I thought everything would fly once I get on. I'm not afraid of heights anymore now. I love riding on airplanes ^_^.
And I believed rain was just the sky crying.
I used to believe that all the monsters I saw on TV were out to get me... I still do now...Hahaha joking

. I miss those paranoid childhood moments...
