It's fairly unhelpful to note that something interesting happens at 300, 500, and 600 minutes...

does anyone have more hints. I am trying to find out the answer now, its just really hard to get.

There's really no hints to it, everything you need is right there in the puzzle, and last week's puzzle.

It's a huge word problem, using algebra and geometry.
Figure out the volumes of all of the involved objects for starters, how's that for a hint? I took a shortcut and did mine on a spreadsheet instead of solving for X on paper, which would have taken a lot longer.

I don't know if you'll get it in in time for the cookie, but the NP might be good this week.
