ok here's the story, i've been playing neopets for 3 years now i'm 33 ,a couple of weeks ago i tried to login it said my account was frozen for scamming, i freaked out, i tried writing everyone i could think of, i got a letter from neo saying i broke the rules i won't get my account back, which i never did break the rules, i think i was hacked, i have an awsome gallery, everything which i worked very hard to earn, all of a sudden my account gets unfrozen but my password doesn't work, i have been told that it may have been reset, i've tried writing to them asking for the new password but i have heard nothing, i would appreciate any advise in getting back my acoount
thx
marc

Did anyone from Neopets write you saying that your account had been unfrozen? If so, that is the person to write. If no one sent you anything, it is possible that the person who hacked you changed the email address while in your account. If you think that is the case, you need to write Neopets and suggest that this might be what happened. Give them the email address that the account should be under and give them enough info about your account to let them know that you are the true owner--neofriends, pets names, the password you had prior to the hacking, etc.

Best of luck to you.

Good luck in getting your account back. I can't give you any advice on what to do but I am sure somebody will. I think someone stole your account or there is a glicth with your password.

Fill out the hacked / scammed report. TNT are usually really quick an replying to those. Usually within a couple weeks, you'll get a response.

No, he said that the account had been unfrozen. He still is unable to access it; therefore, he does not have it back.

This happened to a friend of mine last year when she was "unfrozen". She couldn't access her account, and she couldn't get her password emailed to her because someone had accessed her account and changed the email address. She had to write back to Support, and TNT then sent her a reactivation link in the email. She clicked on the link, and was able to get back into her account.

I'm looking for the "Contact Us" link about reactivation links, but I can't seem to find it. I think you need to contact the Support staff member who unfroze your account though. :)

Hi I'm Marc's (honest415) mother Michele aka Cher that's what many of my friends at neo know me as :) I was told about this place by a very good friend that I know for years. I think I was here a long time ago if I'm not mistaken. But it looks different. Neo is being very tough and I feel SO bad for my son. He has been nothing but nice to people in need out there on neo! Here's the latest letter I sent them. However I doubt they will get back! Like he said the account is up and even the month has changed to 3 years but can not access the account because they changed his pass code. I call this cruel and teasing! Do they have a telephone number I can call them on? I would like to tell them how some of their staff treat others! I will also quit if they don't give him back his account! They say he scammed but HE was scammed! I told them at one point to recheck their data because obviously the mistake is on their side. Here is one of the letters I sent them. Thanks for listening. I'm feel so bad for anyone this happens to. I know how it feels, it happened to me 3 years ago. I fell for the fake login trick and lost everything. Most of the things in my shop are from my son Marc aka honest415. I am italianice8

PLEASE! Someone anyone get back to me! We have been trying to contact someone from neo staff and are getting all different answers! My son's account was frozen but yet the site is still up and even changing the months! He was scammed and can NOT access his code to get into his site! Usually you people are VERY helpful, but now there is no one there getting back to me or him! He is my son, he is Honest415. Please someone anyone let us know what is going on! One person said he scammed and he didn't! He has been out here for 3 years and lives up to his name "honest" I wish there was a number I can call to tell your bosses and tell them how cruel some of the neo staff is! PLEASE help.
Thank you

EDIT: I forgot to tell you something else. This happened when he went to this forum. He had joined and this happened the next day.

SNak Edit: Thanks for the clarification, I've taken out the link from public viewing so that no-one mistakenly enters that site. :)
You know I thought about that after I posted the link. I'm new here and not sure about the rules as yet. I also gave the wrong neo name I see. I guess I'm just so upset for Marc! I am italianice52 at neo.

I just looked in your shop on your Honest415 account, and found the following: "This shop description was found to be unsuitable and was cleared". I wonder if this had anything to do with the freezing??

Anyway, have you tried the "Forgot Password" link yet? If your email on Neopets is still the same, then you should be sent your password via your real email address.

i thought about that, but i've basiclly had the same things in my shop for years, blobs and a link to my trades, don't know why they would take it out all of a sudden unless someone changed it to something that it shouldn't be

Honest - try the lost password thing. If nothing else, that should let you know if the email on the account was changed. It does seem odd that you never got an email saying you were uniced.

If you don't get the password emailed to you, then you definitely need to write to support, give the email you signed up with/use, when the account was unfrozen, that you hadn't received the password. I know there was a problem with AOL - they basically banned Neopets emails due to "spam" complaints so no one using AOL could get any emails from Neo. Don't know if that's still true.

I've heard of this happening - an account gets unfrozen, the password's reset and the person isn't sent the new password. So battle part 2 begins trying to get the reset password!

As far as joining here and being scammed the next day, the only connection I can possibly see is that you have contact information right out there - your IMs. Have you been im'ing with anyone? Anybody send you anything or send you to another site?

The shop description being cleared I think is actually kind of standard when an account's frozen. I don't know why, I remember mine was after I'd been scammed, frozen, then unfrozen.

OK, here is my advice. I read your letter, ItalianIce, and I see nothing but anger in it. If you want the account back, you cannot get angry. I don't care how upset, angry, frustrated you are, you will not get anywhere with TNT unless you are respectful and polite to them. You can be very firm in your argument, yet be cordial and understanding at the same time. You catch a whole lot more flies with honey than with vinegar.

In my dealings with the staff, I have found them to be understanding, hardworking, and extremely nice. But, I have always been nice to them.
No matter how upset I was, I never lashed out at them in any correspondence. They are overworked and underpaid and have to sift through gazillions of reports, all of whom are claiming to be innocent.

The staff of Neopets didn't scam your son. And, are pretty much doing their best given the situation. They unfroze the account. From the looks of it, the email address must have been changed by the scammer. As I have already told your son in a PM, he needs to contact Neopets and prove that the account is his by giving info about the account--names of neofriends, bank balance, etc.

If you are going to call them to give them a piece of your mind and end up screaming and hollering, my guess is that you will get hung up on and possibly get your whole household IP banned. Trust me, that happened to someone here about 1-1/2 years ago. He screamed at the receptionist, legal representative, and anyone he could find and shortly thereafter, every one of his accounts was frozen.

If you want to see what worked when I wrote my letters to the staff about my daughter's and husband's accounts (both unfrozen within a week of writing), check out my post on: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18899

EC, it wasn't PPT. Italianice had a link to another site listed right under her message, which has since been deleted so no one else would go to it and also get scammed.

Let me begin by saying I have always been nice, polite, respectful etc. to neo staff. If I wasn't I wouldn't be there anymore. I never said I thought the staff scammed my son. Why would I think such a thing like that?! I'm not the type of person to call and scream and yell at a person unless I had to and in this case I wouldn't do that to neo. Perhaps my wording was misunderstood here. I will leave this up to Marc and see if he can get some answers out here. I seem to be making it a bit worse for him. He's 33 and could do it himself. I have to keep in mind, neo is only a game. Take care everyone and thank you again :)
