I think the PSP already has some decent games out. I'd get Untold Legends, Dynasty Warriors, Darkstalkers, and that one puzzle game that I can't be bothered to remember the name of. The others though... bleh...
Well, at least the PSP has some decent games out. :p
LUMINES! BEST PUZZLE GAME EVER!
Sorry for that, but yah, Lumines, and Wipeout Pure. *drools*
But $250, no thank you. Thats over half of the money I make a year. $480 a year.

A rechargable still only lasts 6 hours or so, and the whole point of the PSP is for it to be portable, so hooking it up to a car or home adaptor generally defeats the purpose
I'm definately getting Wipeout Pure though. And Daxter. Those two games are like... the holy grails of PSP.

Not really, every portable has one. If you're playing it in a car, it's portable. :p Home adapters prevent the battery from draining while you're not out being "portable", their main function isn't for portability, but to keep life in the batteries when you need the power. I guess you should probably limit how long you play while you're nowhere near a place to use an adapter and take extra batteries. The battery life isn't as much as a problem as it is made out to be really.
Sir Michael - Yeah, Lumines. That game got really good reviews and I want to play it. >_> I could buy one next weekend if I want, but I'm going to buy Makai Kingdom and La Pucelle tactics (I'd only be able to buy the package and no games with it). :\

Makai Kingdom, that looks amazing. I want to buy it so bad. LPT though, doens't look very good. Actually, it's time to revive a certain thread.... or make a new one.
Anyways, back on-topic, I still thik the PSP will get some really good games eventually, like the MediEvil game, and Death Jr. I think Clank should have his own game too, like Daxter. That would be cool.

Oh yeah! I forgot about that Medieval Game. I've never played the second one, but the first game was so awesome.

He started it!
It also blows away the DS.
Anyway. I heard Lumines was pretty good. The guy that made it also made a game for DS called met... I mean, I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT DS!
And rbpnmn, I believe there are a lot of good games on DS. No denying it. But most of those games are just ports from other systems, or from earlier Ninendo systems, with a few touch-ups.
While that's not entiely true, I won't do some really long response. All I'm gonna say is that a lot of the games on PSP are just watered down ports. Gosh, why is it so hard to get into a convo about DS and not talk about PSP or vice versa?
Sat Jul 30, 2005 1:26 am
Yeah, it's true that a lot of the PSP titles are watered down ports, as are the DS's so lets leave it at that
Meh, if worst comes to worst, I can trial the games on an emulator and see which handheld I prefer.
I can't shake away your Nintendo loyalty, nor can you shake away my Sony loyalty. And no amount of arguing can change that

So lets drop the whole DS vs. PSP issue, and flame XBox instead
Heheh, just kidding.

Bf has one and it's just ok to me. Definetly not nearly enough games for it yet.. and the movies that come out for it (most of them) are FAR too expensive.
There definetly need to be more RPG style games for it. All I see is stanky freakin sports games. Ugh I hate sports games!! Well... I like golf ones but other than that... UGH!

heh

Well, NIS America makes SRPGs, except that Sony didn't give them a dev kit so they can't make their games. I think this is because Sony wants the PSP to be
Portable. So, they only want want games that are quick or that you can save at any time. Which I think is stupid.

I heard the most hilarious and glorious statement out of my dad's mouth the other day while watching Cinematech... I'm sitting there watching a preview for a game, and he looks at it and is like, "Those graphics look like crap." The movie ended and the game info was shown.... and it was a PSP game. Ah, it was beautiful.
Minor note: My dad generally chooses to like whatever consoles I don't like. I happen to prefer DS, he prefers PSP.
But yeah, after seeing the graphics in the game, I don't really get what all the hype is about, they looked like spoofed up PS1 graphics to me. Maybe it was just the particular game or something.

Televisions show graphics badly and we don't even know what game it was... anyway, the PSP has PS2 graphics and possibly even better, not even close to the PS1. That's what the competition is for. Anyway, opinions on graphics are highly subjective.
Notice how I didn't mention the competition by name, since that is the unspoken word of this thread.

Of course you are talking about the Gizmondo, right?

You can play movies on PSP, right? If you get the movies in UMD or whatever the format is called? If you can do that and have internet from it, then I really don't care about what the games are. I want one.
