That is a terrible song.

Have you thought about becoming obsessed with 24 hour live Big Brother?

Oh yeah, and the French game shows are some you should definatly stay away from aswell. They dress up as lobsters and throw themselves at stuff.

I'm glad you found your candy now :)

And if you're having to spend ages being bored, pocket crossword books rock :D

well to pass the time... i'm going to have friends coming over tommorow... watching movies. As well, I have some books (they were on the top shelf of my parents shelves, tall I may be, but I couldn't reach them in my current state.)
As well, I have finally seen all of the extent of the road rash/bruising on my body and boy is it a doozy. The stuff on my side is simply nasty. Just... ugly ugly ugly.
And now i've showered, and I feel so much better for it. Hairs clean, i'm clean, no more gravel in my scalp, or dirt caked to my skin. So i'm happy.
My candy is no more except for one lone jawbreaker. But i'm OK with that. My dads out buying me fruit.
All in all. I think i'll survive this experience and make an experience of it. At least I won't have to pack too much when I move. Mwaha. is that wrong? Yes. Yes it is. But thats ok!

I'll take pictures of my knee and elbows/forearms for all to see once i'm able. They're pretty gnarly. It's good fun. (oh and maybe pictures of me and Lady during better times.)
I'm going out to my camp on Friday so long as I feel up to it *pray* so I should see how badly she was hurt, the damage to my helmet (i'll get pictures to prove why I wear them), and pictures of my friends from Camp. Apparently one of the volunteers told the kids what happened, and now the kids are all upset and a lot of them won't ride. *sigh*
I wish I was there. I could make people ride... Oh well.
If they hire me back after this stunt, that'd be cool. Though I doubt i'll ever live this down.

Oh, Inrun, the camp should welcome you back--to show the kids that even though you were thrown, you are not afraid to ride again. You could be quite an inspiration to them. Poor kids with vivid imaginations probably are thinking up all sorts of horrific things--that will freak them out so much that they will never ride again. However, if they were able to see you in the flesh, they would see that it isn't nearly as horrible as they imagined. And, yes, you fell and got hurt--bad. But it isn't any reason to quit. Hopefully, the camp will pick up on that. Because it would be quite an opportunity for the kids. Even if you just went there for a few hours.

Aspirin thins the blood. Which means a person who is already bleeding could bleed even more--since thinner blood means it takes longer to clot. That's why you aren't supposed to take aspirin a few days prior to any type of a surgery--due to the fear that once you start bleeding, you might not stop. Oh, my little brain is chocked full of facts!!!!

ouch.

that is worse than my worst fall, which involved landing on my feet after bailing from a bolting horse. bareback. broke my ankle, but that's nothing near as bad as a collarbone.

don't know what to say except , hope you and your horse feel better. you sound like you haven't lost your nerve at all, though it isn't as if you can tell when you're not allowed on a horse ^_^

so, I hope you feel better, and I wish you luck and lots of candy.

I'd assume because it thins your blood and you bleed more easily.

Though, I assume you know that Rachel, considering your medical study-ness.

Brilliant movie, The Backyard. Demented kids taking tons of aspirin before they emulate WWF wrestling so that they bleed more freely. Nuts. Absolutely nuts.

Well...
The camp I work at is with kids with non-abilities (Disabilities), and a lot of them... *sighs*. Ok. I have a bit of an 'image' at camp as the strong one. It'd freak a whole bunch of them out to see me like this. And the drive may very well kill me at the moment. (The only reason i'm awake right now is because I woke up in severe pain if you get my drift.) Driving on gravel roads... may be a bit much for me to handle.
Plus, i've been keeping everyone in check from home. Apparently I may have destroyed the ability to ever have staff rides again (mwahahahaha!) but that'll never happen. It'd be dangerous to dissallow it. What I did may have been well... stupid/reckless but staff need to take the horses out every so often simply too run. And it's not like I don't know what i'm doing, it was just one of those freak things that happens. Even the best riders fall off and bash themselves. I seem to remember a certain British Showjumper man (one of the best in the world) who fell off in a freak accident and broke his neck.

I don't think i've lost my nerve, but I could be wrong. I doubt i'll be on a horse until after Christmas simply because of location. I know it wasn't the horse that did it too me, it wasn't at all Lady's fault and i'll probably beat anyone who says it was. It was mine. And i'll accept that. I probably won't go back to my camp next year though. *one sided shrug* I'll be in Lethbridge anyways, and frankly I don't want to pay for a place to live for a month if I won't be there. And I know camp wont pay for it. So... meh. Whatever. I could go on... but I shouldn't.

Sorry. Tangentful. *wanders off back to bed*

Surely you can talk the talk, even if you (literally) can't walk the walk?

I'm afraid too to be honest. I tend to wince a lot... and i'm not as animated as I normally am. Plus, i'd honestly never survive the drive... so i'm going out tommorow (hopefully i'll be ok.) I have to pick up all my clothes, my saddles, art stuff... and I want to say goodbye to the staff.
So tommorow... but not today.
No kids will be there.
Apparently theres a sickness going around camp anyawys. Something to do with vomiting... and severe stomach pain. Frankly i'm not sure I could deal with that and the collar bone. Thusly the farther away, the better.

Asprin only thins the blood in lower doses than are used for pain medication. at higher doses it also acts as a coagulant, cancelling out its anticoagulant effect. I wont explain in any more detail unless you really want to know, i try not to bore people too often, but thats why i was wondering.

That's why I said I assume you know that, love. I was just saying that because I thought that's why shapu said that. Follow at all?

I know you're much cleverer than me on medical stuffles.

i dont think i phrased my question right the first time. i should have explained myself more. i think people think it thins the blood because you take it to stop blood clots - which it does do, but only in really low doses (long complicated story to do with non-nucleated cells and irreversible blocking of proteins), i was just wondering if shapu knew something i didnt.

anyway, back to inrun's shoulder... i hope its a bit better today

No, just the same as everyone else - you shouldn't take a drug that works as an anti-coagulant if you're covered in fresh open wounds. Shouldn't take any COX-1 inhibitor, IIRC.

Seriously, though, I had no idea about the coagulation-promoting effects of high doses of aspirin. Something new every day, and all that.
