Peter Jennings died Sunday night of lung cancer. He was truly a legendary broadcaster. Not only that, he was both an American and Canadian icon.

For me, it will certainly be unusual to turn on the news and not hear his voice.

Rest in peace, Mr. Jennings.

I was just about to post this.

He had quite an amazing life; he will be missed. :(
Rest in peace, Peter Jennings.

I saw this in one of my friends AIM profiles and thought it was a joke, cause I have weird friends like that, and it seemed odd to me that he would be dead.

But he is.

I never really watched ABC news, but it's still sad to see him go.

I signed in to my account at 11:03 pm on Mon Jan 05, 2009. My last visit beforehand was Thu Dec 01, 2005 at 10:26 pm. Um....wow.

He was very fortunate to be at peace with his family around. With the complications of lung cancer, it would have been far worse for him. He'll be missed greatly in this world.

Rest in Peace Peter.

It's almost impossible to get better from lung cancer, as it's one of the worst kinds of cancer, and once you get it you really can't stop it.

He was a great reporter, and will be missed.

Wow, I can't imagine sitting down and watching World News Tonight without him. He was a amazing broadcaster, the only one I've ever really liked.

Wow. I feel terrible. He was awesome. He was probably my favorite news reporter. He made me calm in even the most hectic situations. It's gonna be hard to watch the news now. Rest in peace Peter.

Yeah I know... I don't think I've ever heard of someone getting better from lung cancer, but I could always hope....
