I rather see Voldemort win. Crush all the hopes and dreams of millions of children XD

Same, but it'll never happen.

Actrually, my friend meant that Snape is actually fighting for the good side, but he had to make the Unbreakable Vow because he didn't want Bellatrix and Narcissa to get suspicious. Then he had to kill Dumbledore and then go back to Voldemort, pretending to be loyal. He's also mean to Harry so Voldemort will favor him. But maybe in the end, he will turn against Voldemort and kill him.

Except for the bit where only Harry can do it. Now, he might betray Voldemort to the Order, in the unlikely event that he can get the information across in a way that the Order will trust...

I don't think Snape's behavior towards Harry means anything either way. He's just vindictive that way; it's been canon since the first book.

He probably didn't want to make the vow, and I'm sure self-preservation was involved (Snape being such a self-preserver), but the third clause would mean abandonment of double-agent status too, wouldn't it?

Rowling has been building up our hatred for Snape since book 1. It was blatently obvious to me that She'd make him do something like this.

If Snape turns out evil in the end though, I'll eat my £100 Birthday money. If would be annoyingly obvious to the thickest person that Snape is supposed to be perceived as Evil. I think Jo's just trying to make us hate him more before she reveals why we should trust him, and how he's really a good guy.

... But that doesn't stop him being a very punchable guy.

I am thinking that snape is for the good side.

Earlier on in the book snape was saying to dumbledore that he ddn't want to do something, and then dumbledore said he had to, I think he didn't want to kill dumbledore.

I think snape is fighting for the goodside, but isn't gonna kill voldy himself, I think he is trying to get closer o voldy, so he can put voldy in a position where Harry can kill him, because in the prophecy it said thta one has to kill the other.

R.A.B. = Regulus A. Black, I think.

Why do you think Snape's on the good side?

Miss Padfoot! Welcome back! You can track the debate back through the copious pages, if you'd like, but the Mugglenet editorialist who wrote "Snape is Evil" argues my point better than I've been doing. I expect Brandon Ford of Underground Lake to come out with an even better one any day now.

I really don't want to believe that Hogwarts is gone, you know. I had a soaring hope that, you know, it was still up to the governors, but if these are the same governors as in CoS... well, Hogwarts hasn't a prayer. I mean, they are extremely blackmailable, and while they did take decisive action after Ginny was taken, well, what's decisive action anymore? Is it worth losing your loved ones over a fortress that is a fortress no longer?

What'll happen to the house-elves? What about all the students who hadn't taken their O.W.L.s - how will they find training and work? This is a thousand-year-old legacy thrown out the window, and what so many Potterites have known as home for so long. Hogwarts has to feature in the final volume, with Voldemort being so obsessed with its history - Horcruxes could be hidden there, for instance - but the school has died. It's sinking in.

That Isd exactly what I was thinking last night! You beat me to posting! :( lol

I think snape is on the good side because he had an argument with dumbledore with snape saying he didn't want to do something, and dumbly saying he had to, and when dumbly was saying please to snape just before he killined him, dumbly was saying please because he was asking snape to do it.

regulus was a death eater so it would also have been easier for him to get the horcrux....

Lalala... Time to throw some more oddball things into the big HP theories cauldron...

I love Merope. What do you think Voldemort feels towards her? I think he has some sort of empathy towards her (he killed his Father after all) but also disdain, for her love for a muggle. Maybe Voldie, since he cannot understand or feel love himself, is fascinated with it, since his own mother ended up dying giving birth to the son of the man she loved so much and whom did not love her. This also might be some sort of explanation as to why he did not want to kill Lily at first - because he was fascinated that she was willing to die for the son she loved so much.

Also, I really like how Jo (We share a name! Mwahahaha!) likes naming her characters after stars... We've got Sirius, Draco and Merope. Does this mean these characters have been marked out as "special"?

(From the rather good HP Lexicon -

Quote:
'Merope' is the name of a star in the constellation Pleiades. In Greek mythology, the seven Pleiades were minor goddesses who were companions to Artemis. All her sisters married immortals, but Merope married Sisyphus, a mortal.
).
