This is an old idea which I hope will work out okay. The idea is to compliment or thank three different people in this order:
1) Compliment or thank someone random. This person may or may not read the forums. Think of someone who is important to you, who deserves more appreciation than s/he has received or just someone you happen to know.
2) Then pay a compliment or thank the previous poster (the person above you).
3) Finally, remember to compliment yourself. Too many of us put ourselves down constantly and that is a baaad feeling. Agree with me. Baaad. (Where's a nodding emoticon when you want one?)
You are welcome to show your appreciation to general groups (e.g. my friends, family, the world, universe, etc.) but complimenting individuals is encouraged.
So here I go -
It's one of the hardest things in the world to rear a child and not mess them up too badly. It's really tough to be a parent but my mother has done a pretty good job with both of her kids, I think. She's a great parent and I wouldn't swap her for anyone else in the world.
And since I have no person above me, so to speak, I'd like to thank Jim for encouraging me to make this thread again.
As for me - I think one of the better things about me is persistence (although some would translate that as stubborness). I generally refuse to give up and so I tend to be successful in what really matters to me. If I don't get the results I'd like, at least I know I've given it my best shot.
Okay, so we'll see how this goes and with any luck, the thread won't die for a while.
