My Reritement from IRC

My mom wont allow me to go on mIRC

She believes it can give me viruses, I dont even cklick on most links ...

I have disabled Remote access and windows messenger both. So theres no way to get a virus unnoticed .... No more mIRC for me after 3 years :cry:

Hmm, I've heard that it's really easy to get hacked on mIRC. Is this true?

Most viruses and worms come from security holes and vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, not just from mIRC. Disabling Remote Access and Windows Messenger only help a little bit. They only close a couple of security holes. Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is a vulnerability.

Viruses can and will get in unnoticed as long as you have an active internet connection.

There is also something called "Anti-Virus" software. It's highly recommended that a tool that detects and removes viruses is used on your computer.

I have a program called "Anti-Virus&Trojan" Very good prg .. picked up 4 viruses right away

Im going to miss all of you people in #ppt and #idlerpg :cry:

I would suggest changing browsers if you're getting viruses. Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla Firefox are good browsers and they both come with (built-in) popup blockers. Netscape 7.1 also comes with its version of AIM (it's AIM with less features, but it functions). Spyware also has some trouble getting through those browsers as well.

Download Mirc at http://www.mirc.com

And connect to any server

then in the first window type /server -m irc.creativeirc.com then /join #ppt or #pinkpoogletoy
