Hey, I'm taking over for Ammer for just this week, he's busy preparing for Werewolf (swamped to the point that he's not to be able to do this, which doesn't take too long actually, judging by my 20 minute experience, so expect great things over in NNV!). I'm following his format, save for the little graphic and the lack of research (other than all I've heard on the radio and little tidbits I found) in my "info" section for the competitor. :P

Facts

Coldplay
  • Coldplay's third album "X&Y" took a span of 18 months to complete until it was set to release worldwide. "X&Y" contains songs with lyrics about life and death, love and loss, about being fascinated by the world around us but also about accepting that some things can never be fully understood.
  • To date, Coldplay has four Grammies, four Brit awards, and have sold almost 17 million albums worldwide.
  • Their singles include "Speed of Sound", "Clocks" and "The Scientist".

Total Number of Videos: 11

Rob Thomas
  • Frontman of the multiplatinum band Matchbox Twenty. Rob is the singer and principal songwriter. His solo release, "Something To Be", is compiled of songs he affectionately calls as Matchbox's "scrap heap"- songs that were different from the group style. The group is still together.
  • Collaborated with Carlos Santana on the track "Smooth" in 1999, which effectively launched him into individual fame and won him three Grammies.
  • His singles with Matchbox Twenty include "Push", "Bent", and "3 AM", while his two solo singles are "Lonely No More" and "This Is How A Heart Breaks".

Total Number of Videos: 2

I rather liked his "duet" with Santana, and now his solo song before it got overplayed, so, Rob Thomas it is.

Rob Thomas. :)

I liked his solo work before he actually went solo and I also enjoyed "Lonely No More" (not his newer song so much).

I HATE Rob Thomas in ways I can't even begin to describe. His vocals and every single one of his songs grates on my nerves worse than nails across a chalkboard. I want to break something every time one of his songs comes on the radio and I have to sit it out because my sister is driving and she loves him.

I pick Coldplay, but then again, I'd probably pick death by asphixiation over Rob Thomas.

Coldplay definitely gets my vote because I've never actually listened to Rob Thomas's solo work, and I never liked Matchbox Twenty. But anyway, Coldplay's X&Y album is one of the best I've ever heard (of course, their older work is so amazing as well).. I can relate to many of their songs.

*shrugs* Coldplay. Though I'm really not amazingly fond of either.

Rob Thomas

But I don't really like either all that much.

Oh, and can I suggest Bowling for Soup as a band? ^^

Umm, Rob Thomas doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as Coldplay, he's far too bad.

Soo..umm, yeah, Coldplay.

I like Rob Thomas, and I like Matchbox Twenty. But I have to go with Coldplay. DM-Chan likes Lonley No More, but is getting tired of hearing it.
