I guess my 50 or so votes for Shakira to win the MTV2 award did nothing. :(

Thank God The Killers and U2 didn't sweep the awards.

They're over now (have been for about an hour, actually).

Can someone tell me something, because this is the first time I've watched the VMAs in about 8 years... when did they become a circus?

I don't know, never watch the VMAs, usually. But I did last night, and I swear, that had to be the most boring and utterly annoying thing I've ever seen. And I've see Chris Farley movies! :p I believe the last time I watched was when umm...The guy from SNL who did the newsbreak with Tina Fey and is in a new movie, Fever Pitch...Anyway, when he co-hosted with a female. That was entertaining. Or at the very least, they tried to be funny. I kept it on, in hopes of hearing some music (can't find that on MTV anymore, no matter what there little 'Old Wives' Tale' commercials said). But I ended up muting most of the music too, since I dislike hip-hop and rap.

Okay, now that I've bellyached.... Did anyone else feel really sorry for My Chemical Romance? They looked like they really didn't want to be there, and then they didn't win a darn thing. Poor guys, that had to be a miserable evening for them.

I though it was a a mediocre show. I did though like the set they used though I have never seen them use a multi stage thing, usally there in some theather so it is just one stage but no they were in a stadium so they could do that

I also like that Bevis and Butthead were on

My favorite performences was the Notrous B.I.G tribute, Hammer's short performence, and Shakeras. (just because shes hot and the guy has amazing vocals

I saw it and I was a little bored by most of the performances, I was waiting for an amazing performance and none really came. I thought Kelly Clarkson was a perfect way to end the night, she did fall off her podium but everyone quickly helped her back up -- which was nice of them.

Green Day won every single award which was boring, Gwen Stefani you can tell wanted to win Best Pop Video and Best Female Artist but Kelly Clarkson won. Gwen looked a bit agitated as to why she even bothered to come if she doesn't win anything.

But all in all, it was alright. Although R. Kelly's performance was horrible, I mean, was it story time for the VMA's?

Worst 3 hours of my life.

I like Green Day and everything but ugh, it seemed like they were nominated for every award and kept winning.

Performances were boring as well. R. Kelly's was stupid, if you ask me. I got lost halfway through.

I actually liked R. Kelly's performance, as it touched on some issues that popular music really doesn't acknowledge. And I think Hilary Duff is looking quite ugly and skeletal, and a certain member of Good Charlotte could be charged for, y'know, canoodling with a minor.

I only watched about 2 hours of it, because I only wanted to see who won the MTV2 award. Yay Fall Out Boy! <3 I don't really care for many of the other nominees.

I think she has also gotten a bit, on the unpretty side. She is still pretty but not as much as she was before. Also, I think she is 18 now so that may be the reason why they are very open with their relationship.

I think her birthday is September 28. *was playing a Hilary Duff game on neopets for nps XD*

But yeah, she looks more...skanky.

Unfortunatly Hilary has become very skinny. I didn't watch the awards but I've played the Neopets game numerous times.

Totally unfair how Green Day won all those awards, FYI.

Despite the large quantity of performers this year, I thought none of them really shone (I seem to remember a lot of voice straining). The show was rather lacklustre as well; Diddy's attempts at comedy weren't funny and I didn't find that David Cook guy all that humourous either.

Is it just me, or did some of the categories seem kinda rigged? I know there was some controversy between Gwen Stefani snubbing the awards, and everyone thought her bids for Best Female and Best Pop were surefire winners, but they didn't win...which largely suggests a grudge on MTV's part, if you ask me. (Nothing against Kelly Clarkson, who still deserved her awards.) And as much as I hate their song, The Game and 50 Cent arguably had the most successful song in their category, but if they won, they wouldn't be able to share the stage together without having a fight- and thus, Ludacris won with some song that probably doesn't ring a bell to many people.

Not too sure about Green Day winning 7 categories, either.
<hr>
Anyway, here are the nominees and winner of the largely neglected category, Best Video Game Soundtrack (then again, this fits more in Console & PC Gaming). :P

Dance Dance Revolution Extreme (winner)
Def Jam Fight for New York
Madden NFL 2005
Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition
Tony Hawk's Underground 2

Actually, the name is Dane Cook. His act was awful, which is sad, because he's usually hilarious. He wasn't doing his usual stuff, unfortunately. :(

Oh, and yay for DDR. ^_^v

Probably so. Nothing much suprises me with MTV anymore. They probably just gave the majority of the awards to the people that were there/that they wanted to have up on stage, etc. It's all just for show.

As for R. Kelly, I don't really like him, as a performer. But his videos (the actual videos) for Trapped In A Closet are great to watch. Great storyline, great plot, like watching a movie. But I agree, it lost something major without the visuals, and it became really hard to follow.
You can watch the actual videos on Launch (or Yahoo Music or whatever it's called now) I think.

I don't wish to sound condescending, but you do realise that a a lot of the time, people snub awards shows because they haven't won...
