Let us all discuss and remember the good old days of Transformers, where Optimus Prime and the Autbots battled to Destroy the evil forces of the decepticons (not just hurt them emotionally).

It was the 80's, and the fact that the plotline contradicted itself and screwed up so often didn't matter at all. Even in an episode where Optimus went for an entire scene missing his faceplate and talking with a human mouth, few noticed.

But anyway, lets have some questions to go with the poll.

Favourite Transformer? Starscream

it wasnt about hurting eachother here, it wasnt about small victorys.
it was about utterly annihilating the opposition.
though Beast wars did have the very best storyline.
and frankly, i refuse to accept that Energon exists.
though Cybertron/ galaxy force does bring Cybertrons transformation with it...

Sorry, I can't remember much about the Transformers. I watched when they originally came out, child of the 80s here, but then thought they were gone for good until I started coming across your posts, Christopher. I can no longer remember who my favorites were, etc. I just know I loved it. Although not nearly so much as my precious Voltron.

I don't think this ever came on in Calgary, I don't recall it anyway.

The only "Transformers" series which I watched was called "Beasties/Beast Wars/Beast Machines".

Beasties was an unfortunate name mind...
but Beast wars, Best series of them all.

I don't remember that much, but I believe that Silverbolt was a transformer? >_< I think that's the right show. He was my favorite. My cousin played the voice of one of them (manta ray I think? Don't remember).

I'm split between the Autobots and Decepticons though...I mean, both are cool.

The one guy I really like from this show is the one who can change his "Symbol" for Autobot or Decepticon. Pity I can't remember his name.

the only one i can remember is in Armada.
Sideways was his name, and he was a member of The swarm
Ie: a herald of Unicron.

There is also Noisemaze in Galaxy Force

yes. well lets ignore him, because of the really stupid continuity issues with that one.
Japan has it as a differant continuity (taking us to three)
and the Us/Uk has it as a continuation of Armada/energon (i was so glad when that one ended)

so in other words, im going to stick my thingers in my ears, hum really loudly then have my Toys enact the battle i have always dreamed of (Unicron V.S Primus ofcourse)

I am majorly confused between all of these series. Are these series all related?

I know after "Beasties/Beast Wars" came, they made an entirely new season (Same idea) but incorporated "The Matrix" in it and had the same characters (Black Arachnia, Optimus Prime, Cheetor, Rattrap, etc...)

okay, three continuitys.

G1, ended with Optimus primes return and the head/target masters.

Targetmasters, a continuation of the theme of the, well, headmasters and target masters oddly enough.

G2 set after those two, no idea what happens really, nothing major.

machine wars yeah, more of the same.

Beast wars interesting stuff here, set after G1 (dates unknown) but affects G1 due to time travel (the Dinobots (group) are named after Dinobot (individual) due to his sacrafice in code of the warrior, where he dies to save a mankind (megsy is about to destroy the plateu where mankind would eventually rise up, Dinobot stops him)
ends with the Maximals being defeated! sort of

Beast machines some time later, the maximals wake up on a Conquered Cybertron. they try to recclaim the planet through some less than savoury tacticts.
edit: forgot to note that Megsy utterly destroyed all transformers on Cybertron, because of his eternal hatred for organics (the predacons ahving taken organic form in beast wars) ofcourse megsy is unable to rid himself of his own form (dino/dragon) and is a bit self loathing through the series.

Robots in disguise the Decepticons and Predacons (differant groups, the Predacon council holds its origins to the swarm) allie to destroy the Autobots/maximals (same group, just the name has been perverted for some reason or another that i forget)
probably lost, dont remember.

Armada a differant continuity, and pretty much an Alternate realitie. somthing happens, that causes the war to turn out differantly, i think because Unicron Destroyed Quintessa instead of allying with them, meaning no Quintessons to cause more trouble.
pretty much the whole season is to set up Unicrons infulence, some cool stuff by sideways (a member of the swarm) and we learn that the minicons were created by Unicron to spark of the Cybertronian war.
Unicron was masquerading as one of Cybertrons moons, and used the minicons to start the war again as stated, the hatred from this helped to rebuild his power, that he lost last time he attacked (millenia, prehaps even millions of years previously)

Energon With Unicron "defeated" the Autobots attempt to destroy the Decepticons once and for all.
but they keep reviving Unicron for some reason or another, some stuff happens, kicker gets incredibly annoying and Primus is mentioned for the first time since Beast wars
Unicron is finally "destroyed" (explained in the show, Unicron cannot be truly destroyed as he wille xist solong as chaos exists, and chaos will die with the universe, so he's staying basicly)

Galaxy force:
who the heck knows where this sits?! US/UK have it as a continuation of Armada/ Energon Japan has it a seperate continuity.
Rumours say Primus will fight Unicron at the end of the series (heres a hopin) but this doesnt work with Energon/Armada very well (unicrons body having been destroyed)
so. well. frankly weve no idea.

as for comic continuitys (The UK one being best ofcourse )
they are considered slightly alternate realities.

edit: a couple changes, stuff i missed/ommited mainly.

You forgot Transformers: Robots in Disguise (the one with Sharkbite and the Bullet Trains) which is in it's entire own little reality.

I miss the days of "Megatron has injured his foot! I am now leader of the Decepticons!!!"

im sure RID was a continuation of beast machines?
its still a travesty though.

i miss the whiny Starscream, the omnipitant and omniscientific Soundwave.
the Galavatron that was so nuts that a planet that absorbs... nutty things, couldnt handle him!
