I don't get it why people have to stick to traditions instead of just accept whats globally accepted as the standard

happy new yeaer btw

Different culture exist and they all have different ways of measuring time. Please show some respect.

I wished them Happy New Year? ;)

And yeah, I know that different cultures exist and have different ways of doing a lot of things. I never said otherwise. What I don't get is why they just can't accept the standard used by a very large portion of the (economically important) world.

While we're changing that, why don't we sync Mothers & Fathers Day's all over the globe, as well as thanksgivings. Everyone should also speak English. Musn't waste precious air speaking other languages. eh?

I'd like this little holiday debate dropped right now, please. I'd like to think we're all just a little bit more mature than this.

Happy New Year!

**hums a song** Though I want to be with you, be with you, night and day, nothing changes on New Year's Day...

To be a little more back on topic, L'shana Tovah everyone!
*showers with apples and honey*

I'm sad though... my school doesn't give Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur off, so I have to miss two days this month. Oh well.

(And the great thing about Chanukah is, since it's translated from Hebrew, it's practically impossible to spell it wrong. Chanukah, Channukah, Hannukah, Hanukah, Hanukkah, Chanukkah, etc.)

(P.S. I'm back after an unofficial hiatus! Did anyone miss me?)

I've always thought it would be a great first name for a girl... it's just a matter of picking a spelling.

The only schools in the US that give days off are the areas with large Jewish populations (aka mine xD) because a LOT of kids would miss school to go to services. I got Tuesday off but not today and I get Yom Kippur off.

Oh man, I wouldn't be able to fast at school. The lunchroom, oh man...
