Anybody know this game? Anybody played it...? It's a Westwood game.. something I would like to know though.. is there a newer version of Dune? Dune was released I think 1998/1999 but I haven't heard anything about a new version of Dune from Westwood or wherever.

it was a good game, not one of Westwoods best, but it was good none-the-less. If you liked Westwood's work (and who didn't) try the original Command and Conquer, and Red Alert. Both excellent games from one of the best RTS comapny ever, before EA bought them out....

Oh... cool.. thanks. Is Emperor: Battle for Dune the newest of the Dune series?

I think I've played Red Alert before once. I didn't really get how to play though..

Yep, it gives you all three houses, plus Fremen, Tlieaxu, Sadaukar, and Ix (usual stuff) as subhouses. You start off in the game as whatever house with one third of Dune (think 120 degrees of a pie chart), so you have a front with each other house.

Whoa.. cool. Ah.. ok, it sounds quite different.. do you know if there's a newer version planned for the Dune series?

I wasted many many many hours playing Dune 2000, and still play it, I usually use the Atredies, its the one I feel most at home with. And I enjoy laughing at the cheesy live-action cinematics ;)

I'd say the Live Action Cinematics are what made all the westwood games great, hence why Generals wasn't as great (and its not really Westwood as EA owns them).

omg, EA ruinded the series, like most things they ran it into the ground, the game is horrible, the cinematics are not that great, and for some reason, you need at least a P4/Atlhon XP 2500+ to play it without lag, its stupid, cause the graphics look less intense then most games ive played, it just chops all to hell :/
