Well, I love fireworks! The bigger the bang, the better! But I don't like the ones that only bang. That's pointless.

I'd heard of Bonfire day, but I didn't know that's why, thanks for explaining it. :)

And Ginger, if you're going to make a remark like that (which I know you said you're sorry and this comment is a joke, not an attack), you'll have to be more specific than "American", because sections of our country have holidays that others don't. Like Sweetest Day. What's up with that holiday???? pfff. hallmark.

Anyways, I love fireworks. Last time I watched them on Canada day and I CRIED watching them... because I wanted to catch one and I couldn't... and then after a wrote a whole poem about it. So yes, I love them. I'd see them anytime =D.

Bonfire night is on Saturday. Or are you American who doesn't know anything other than stuff that's happening in your own country...?
Yes, in fact, he is an American who doesn't know there's a world outside his fifty states.

That's why he mentioned Canada Day.

Well, happy Guy Fawkes day. I never remember when it is, but then again, I'm an American that doesn't know antyhing other than stuff that's happening in my own country so that's not surprising.

Remember remember the fifth of November

I don't personally like fireworks unless they're at a great distance. When they go off and i'm too close I feel the reverbirations in my chest and through my wires and then the air pockets in my sternum, and it's a wholly unpleasant experience.

But at a distance they're awesome, and pretty and full of lots of really fun colors!
So happy Bonfire night/day/evening/morning/etc/etc

I'm so confused. Yes, I'm American. As in, I live in North America. But no, I will not be USA American and I probably won't ever be.

Fireworks are really nice, but they can make a lot of pollution though. I think it's important not to go overboard... as in, put up fireworks for like 30 minutes or something... 10 or so minutes is really enough.

So, on bonfire night, do you guys have bonfires too, or just fireworks? Real bonfires are fun. :D

where we went was really great! there's a lake on the vale and all the people stand on one side and the fireworks are launched from the other. its a perfect venue!

The Outer Hebrides (Okay, okay, I know that's in England, but it sounds exotic :P)

Hee, the Outer Hebrides are part of Scotland ;)

My town doesn't have a bonfire or fireworks display which sucks as it means more people buy their own fireworks and set them off all through the evening and go on too late at night :/ One of the uni's halls might have a display on though, I must find out as there was one two years ago which was amazingly good. No bonfire though, hmph. Strangely my cat likes fireworks as long as they aren't right outside of the house - he jumps up on the window sill to watch them :)

Funny you should mention fireworks. Someone was seeting a few off earlier this evening, and the next major holiday for the USA is Thanksgiving, which is a few weeks off yet. Not that we launch fireworks for that, either.
